Throughout the years, my passion and love for college football has grown as I have attended many OU games and have spent my fall Saturdays by watching college football all day. Some wonder why I, a teenage girl, am as invested in college football, especially OU football, as I am; the answer to this question can be highlighted in so many reasons, but I will narrow it down to three reasons why.
1. The tradition
Unlike professional football, college football is rooted in deep traditions that represent each team in such a unique way. From the Sooner Schooner, that represents the history of Oklahoma becoming a state, making an appearance after every Sooner score, to Auburn releasing an eagle to fly around the stadium as a battle cry from the fan base, Saturdays in the fall are more meaningful and memorable with traditions.
2. The passion
Like tradition, the passion that the football players have is unlike what it is in professional football. The passion to play in college can come from the fact that the players are choosing the university they want to play for and represent, which strengthens their loyalty and passion for promoting their university.
3. The fan bases
Aside from the games themselves, I heavily look forward to being reunited with Sooner nation each home game. College football fan bases establish strong family bonds that boosts the moral and pride for each person in attendance and each player on the field.
