"Black Mirror" is a British science-fiction, anthology television series. In other words, it's a television series that hosts a brand new cast every episode and focuses on entirely new concepts each episode. It is similar to the "Twilight Zone." It first aired in 2011 and has become increasingly popular with its appearance on Netflix. Here are three reasons why you are missing out if you have not watched an episode of "Black Mirror."
1. It's portrayal of our modern dependence on technology
What's more mind-blowing than watching an episode on your phone about a woman going mad based on her phone controlling not only her actions but her reputation and economic class? Check out Nosedive.
2. It's anthology. Order doesn't matter
If you're anything like me, watching things in order can be hard. With "Black Mirror", you can switch seasons and episodes whenever you please because generally, the episodes do not directly relate to each other.
3. Its diverse cast of actors
Although the show consistently draws parallels in the dangers of relying on technology, it does so with a different cast of actors in every episode. New and recognizable faces appear in this series including Jon Hamm, Alex Lawther, Bryce Dallas Howard, Daniel Kaluuya, and Domnhall Gleeson.
Give yourself a chance to think differently and become aware of your relationship with technology. Question what you watch once your show is over. Question why you use technology. What do you think of when all that's left of your show is your reflection in that little black mirror?
