As you head into your interviews, make sure to look your best! Here are some keys to a great interview!

Present yourself well

A huge part of what employers notice during an interview is based on appearance. For this reason it is very important to maintain a level of professionalism. I'm not saying you need to look like a statue. But it can't hurt to wear something classy and professional and make sure your hair doesn't look like a birds nest. Confidence is also a huge part of presenting yourself well. The interviewers want to know if you know your stuff. So, make sure to maintain eye contact and not fiddle with jewelry or your clothes and never ever ever play with or attempt to fix your hair.

Consider the position you are applying for

Whenever a new question is asked it is important to be relaxed when you answer. But it is also important to give a good answer! A great trick is that when you stop to take a short breath before give your answer, just stop and quickly remind yourself of what you are actually applying for. Doing so will help you remember what standards the job usually has. Also try to learn what the group or job you are applying for is based on. For example, if they are a tourist attraction then they are probably customer based and so a good answer will typically be one where you consider the customers needs first.

Be yourself

The last and most important thing to do in an interview is to wow them with your top qualities. It is easy in an interview to become obsessed with being perfect in every way. However, majority of interviewers are looking for real people. So, not being afraid to laugh if stumble on your chair while sitting down or just smiling when it feels normal will make you so much more relatable and human. Also, keeping a more natural appearance will help you to loosen up and relax which will make you more confident!

So as you go into your interviews, remember to present yourself well, consider the position you are applying for, and be yourself! You will crush it!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
