You started your blog as a hobby first, right? After all, no one gets into blogging to make an income. That's not how it works in the beginning.
While we all know we can make money blogging, there's one thing that holds us all back from gaining that nice side income: ourselves.
That's right. We stand in our own way and we prevent ourselves from writing which ultimately prevents us from continuing our growing success.
Keeping motivated is more than dreaming of saving up money to buy that villa in the countryside. It's more than wishing for overnight success.
To stay on the right track, here are 3 excuses successful bloggers never use.
People Might Not Like Me
When you think about it, blogging is a scary profession. It's where you lay yourself out on the table, waiting for those to either agree or disagree with what you have to say. That thought of being roasted on a stake by someone you don't know is enough for us to hold the backspace button until we're left with a clean slate.
Instead of fearing the publish button on a post that expresses your inner-most thoughts, press that button. You'll be surprised how many people will come forward and agree with what you have to say.
For those that don't agree, you can choose whether or not their comment stays on your post. Instead of adding fuel to the fire, just hit delete and say goodbye to those haters.
So Many Bloggers Already Write About My Topic
News flash: there's a thousand other people who have a blog about your topic. Whether it's fashion, beauty, tech, business... It's been done.
But don't let that deter you. You are you; let that shine and put your own personal spin on your category. Get more specific with your niche and you'll soon be reaching a new audience.
I Don't Have Time to Write
Okay, we all need to stop using this excuse, myself included. We make it to where we seem so busy and there's not a minute to ourselves and it prevents us from blogging.
We have the time. Standing in line at the supermarket, waiting at the doctor's office, getting the car washed---all of these scenarios are the perfect time to pick up the pen (or in most cases, our phones) and start writing. It doesn't have to be a full-length post, just a few ideas are enough to get a head start.
Sure, it may look weird to be furiously typing on your phone but it's what you need to do to succeed. Who cares what you look like to other people? You'll be the one laughing when you're rolling in the big bucks.
