1. The UCLA Bruins
The Bruins have a couple guys, Aaron Holiday and Ikenna Okwarabizie, returning from a solid UCLA team last year. A lot of the offensive duties will rely on Holiday and some of the defensive duties on senior Okwarabizie as the more mature players on the squad. While coach Steve Alford has lost many players from his team last year, he put together a solid recruiting class ranked 28th in the nation on 247 Sports. Among these recruits is Lonzo Ball's brother LiAngelo Ball, who could turn into a very helpful player for Alford.
2. The Michigan State Spartans
Headlined by Miles Bridges, this Michigan State team will be no joke this year. It is still amazing to think that Bridges didn't get drafted in the first round of last year's NBA Draft. Instead, he will be a dominant force on a team with many returning guards like Matt McQuaid, Cassius Winston, and Kenny Goins. Big man Nick Ward will also be in on the action this year. This will turn out to be a nicely coached team by Tom Izzo once again.
3. The Louisville Cardinals
This Louisville team will be heading in a different direction than in previous years under former coach Rick Pitino. Even after the scandal that found Pitino out of a job for this year, the team still managed to obtain a 16th overall ranking in the AP Polls. This roster is generally packed with underclassmen as there are only a two seniors on the team. But the biggest spotlight on this young basketball team will be how they respond to having a new coach while also having to deal with the outside noise around them. It should be an interesting school to keep your eye out for nonetheless.
