The season of graduation parties has been in full swing since the beginning of June.
For a recent graduate, the graduation party is the most important day they'll have until the start of college (or work) in the fall. After just having my graduation party, I'm fresh off the grad party boat.
My day was so special (shout out to everyone who came and helped with the party), but I had many thoughts as the day began and continued.
1. Today's the day I become as rich as I've ever been.
I know it'll be a short lived rich.
2. I wonder how many pictures I'll have taken at the end of the party.
It ended up being quite a few, but not as many as I had expected originally.
3. I'll probably take a lot of them, so I'd better use more hairspray.
I didn't use enough.
4. I'm stressed and sweaty, but I'm chillin'.
Yes - I actually thought this, and said it to my roommate and a friend of mine.
5. The party hasn't even started and I'm already ready to be done.
6. Have I eaten today?
7. What if I don't get any of the food?!
I knew I would get some, but it was a valid thought.
8. When do I get cake?
This was also a valid thought.
9. Finally, people are here! That means it's party time.
10. I wonder how many times I'll be asked where I'm going to college.
The total came out to 538. (Not really, but it felt like a question I got a lot of. That was definitely to be expected.).
11. I should count how many hugs I give and get.
I didn't count, but if I had to guess, I'd say around 173.
12. I wonder if anyone would be offended if I stood here with a plate of food.
Nobody was.
13. Do I know who that is? Ah, I'll ask my mom later.
14. I'm not gonna be able to go to the bathroom until this is over.
15. *sentimentally cries inside*
16. My feet hurt.
17. Should I mingle with people instead of just stand here?
18. *looks at picture boards* Aw, look how cute I was.
No joke, I thought this a few times during the day.
19. I should've made a big sign that said "card box this way."
I definitely got a lot of questions in reference to where my card box was.
20. It's only 3? I don't know if I can take two more hours of this.
21. Man, I haven't seen *insert name* in forever. It's so nice that they came.
22. It's a good thing I like the food we picked.
With all the food we made to the people who came ratio, I knew I'd be eating grad party food for weeks. I was right!
23. I wonder how much money I've gotten so far.
A very shallow thought, I know, but it's an inevitable thought for a broke and college bound kid who knows they're getting card after card full of dough.
24. I should've broken these shoes in before today.
By the end of the party, I had baby lumps on my middle toe from the toe strap on my brand new sandals.
25. Thank goodness that's over.
As much fun as my grad party was, I was definitely more than ready to head home and just chill after such a long day.
I have no idea if anyone had the same thoughts as me during their own grad parties or if anyone even had thoughts similar to these, but I most definitely had a lot going on in my head during my party!
