Being in your twenties is a confusing time of trying to figure out life for yourself. It is the transition period from being a child into an adult. You are considered an adult, but as a young adult, you just haven’t had enough experience in order to have it all figured out. To help you through this journey here is a list of reminders that every 20-something year-old could use.

1. Don’t make someone else a priority that doesn’t make you a priority as well.

2. Don’t be so hard on yourself; you are your biggest asset.

3. Trust your intuition.

4. Learn from your past, instead of dwelling on mistakes.

5. When others are emphasizing your flaws to make you feel small, it is because they are insecure.

6. Don’t get a pet if you don’t have the time or the money for it, yet.

7. Don’t waste money on things that you don’t need.

8. Put a small percentage of each paycheck into savings; you will thank yourself later.

9. Also, find a balance between saving money and using it for experiences.

10. Be selective with who are your close friends and whom you reveal your secrets to.

11. Sometimes, when things don’t work out, it’s a blessing in disguise.

12. Never apologize for how you feel.

13. Time invested into staying organized is worth it, especially important paperwork.

14. Push yourself to work harder; anything worth having requires a lot of work and time.

15. Consistently tell the people you love how much you appreciate them.

16. Set your own priorities for your life or someone else will.

17. You can learn a lot just by being present and observing.

18. Accept things for what they are.

19. But, if you are not happy where you are, have the courage to find where you will be happy.

20. There is no specific age that you need to have things accomplished by; do things on your own timeline.

21. Sometimes friendships dissolve and people grow apart, that’s OK.

22. Stop apologizing so much.

23. Being single is not a curse, but an opportunity to only have to answer for yourself.

24. You don’t owe people explanations for anything, especially for what you believe in.

25. Always remember how important great friendship is and don’t let little things ruin that.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
