In the spirit of this past weekend's events and the love of healthy competition and a good old fashion rivalry, I decided to compile a short list of just a few of the many reasons why St. Lawrence University is superior to Clarkson University

1. St. Lawrence is much more difficult to get into, with an acceptance rate of 47.6 percent vs. Clarkson’s acceptance rate of 62.1 percent.

2. St. Lawrence has a near equal split of Females to Males in their student body, with 46 percent males and 54 percent females. Significantly less equal is Clarkson’s male to female ratio, with 70 percent males to 30 percent females.

3. In 2015, U.S. News National University Rankings ranked Clarkson #115 on the list of the Best Liberal Arts Colleges and ranked SLU significantly higher, at #60.

4. Also in 2015, Forbes ranked Clarkson #204 on the list of America’s Top colleges and yet again SLU is ranked significantly higher at #133.

5. St. Lawrence has an endowment of $230.3 million, whereas, Clarkson has an endowment of $158.3.

6. In an article posted on the website, Total Frat Move, SLU girls were ranked #52 on a list compiled by over 40,000 student reviews for the 100 colleges with the most attractive women. CU did not even make the list.

7. On the Niche.com list of 100 Colleges with the Most Attractive Men, SLU comes in hot at #74. Clarkson is not mentioned on the list.

8. SLU was established before Clarkson, in 1856. Clarkson was established in 1896.

9.The average freshman retention rate for SLU is 91 percent. At Clarkson, the average freshman retention rate clocks in lower, at 88 percent.

10. At SLU, 93 percent of students return each year. At Clarkson, only 85 percent of students return each year.

11. At SLU, 74 percent of students say their alumni network is strong and highly involved at SLU. At Clarkson only 67 percent of their students feel this way about their alumni network.

12. 57 percent of students at SLU feel they have a low-stress course load. At Clarkson, only 54 percent of students feel that.

13. On Niche.com, on the list of the best and worst qualities of SLU, 80 percent of students are proven to succeed. On the list of best and worst qualities of Clarkson, proven success isn’t even listed.

14. At SLU, 99 percent of faculty have earned the highest degree in their field. At Clarkson, only 88 percent of faculty have earned the highest degree in their field.

15.Forbes ranks Clarkson as the 88th top college in the Northeast. Forbes ranked SLU 25 positions higher, as the 63rd top college in the Northeast.

16.On StudentsReview.com, students graded Clarkson as a C+ school overall. SLU students gave us a B+.

17. Niche.com student reviews of Clarkson’s party scene add up to an average grade of a B+. SLU Students gave the Saint’s party scene a strong A-.

18. The capacity of Appleton Arena is 3,200. For Cheel Arena, there are 200 fewer seats.

19. The SLU Men’s Hockey team has won more Conference Tournament Championships than CU. Six for SLU and five for CU.

20. We have had 10 Hobey Baker award finalists. They have only had seven.

21. CU campus is about 640 wooded acres, SLU comes out on top with 1000 acres.

22. 94 percent of the Clarkson Class of 2014 were employed or enrolled in graduate or professional schools within a year after Commencement, for St. Lawrence, it was 96.5 percent.

23. On SoCawledge.com, St. Lawrence is ranked #52 on the 100 Colleges With The Hottest Girls In 2015 List. Again, Clarkson is not even on the list #yikes

24.Student reviews of Campus Food at Clarkson average out to a B- on Niche.com. SLU students gave the campus food an A-.

25. Clarkson does not even have a CU branch for the Odyssey Online, and won’t be able to write an article to chirp back at this one.

Oh also...SLU men's hockey swept Clarkson this weekend and is going to Lake Placid.

Smell ya later Golden Knights.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
