1. College goes by faster than you could ever imagine, so savor every moment.
2. Your first dorm room probably won't look like anything you've seen on Pinterest.
3. Your residence hall will have about 5 washing machines, and 4 will be broken at all times, so suck it up and wait in the laundry room for your turn (not just outside by the door or in the lobby.)
4. You'll learn to spot the differences between the people who are in your life for the long haul, and those who just want you for your Netflix password.
5. Don't sit through lame come-ons, you could've been on the dance floor with your friends by now. Give them a fake number and send them on their way.
6. The people you meet the first few weeks probably aren't going to be your best friends. Be patient, the true friends will be there before you know it.
7. Have the time of your life, but be smart. I know it's Thirsty Thursday and downtown is just calling your name, but you have a test tomorrow…so use everything in your power to resist.
8. In case that last point didn't sink in, repeat after me…"PRIORITIES."
9. Trying to impress others can cloud your judgement. If you don't want to do something, don't do it.
10. There's no shame in changing majors. Try taking several different electives in a variety of subjects to get a feel of what interests you.
11. You'll probably run into people you don't like (especially if you're on a small campus). Be the bigger person, and say hi.
12. Fight every urge you have to procrastinate.
13. Go to game days even if sports aren't your thing. You'll regret not having the experience.
14. Go to every class even if attendance isn't mandatory. Your GPA will thank you for it.
15. Doing something ten times in a row forms a habit…therefore, try going to the gym and not eating fast food ten days in a row.
16. Go through rush. You may think sororities or fraternities aren't your thing, but you never know.
17. If you get asked to be someone's date to any type of function, go. Don't be so quick to judge, you'll probably have a good time!
18. You're going to feel like everyone is staring and judging you on your long walk to class…I promise you they're not.
19. If you still don't feel comfortable in the crowd on your way to class, stock up on the headphones and sunglasses.
20. Make the first move, and that doesn't just pertain to the cute guy in your bio class. Interact with as many people as possible, you never know who you'll meet.
21. Nights out are fun, but so are nights in.
22. Some of the best memories you'll make will be on those lazy nights where you do nothing but watch TV and order takeout with your best friends.
23. Be spontaneous. Nothing miraculous ever happened from something routine.
24. Compromise is key in getting along with random roommates.
25. Four years are over in the blink of an eye. Don't take any moment for granted, and remember to appreciate the short time you have at your school.
