When I was younger, my family used to have this book where we'd write down all the things that we were thankful for on Thanksgiving. Overall, I've had a good semester, and for this year's Thanksgiving, I wanted to reflect and give thanks to the things and people who I really value this year.
1. My Family
They've been supporting me my whole life, and I know that they will always be there for me no matter what.
2. My Friends
Some friends I've had for 10 years now, others I've just met this semester. But with friends from all over the world, I know that I have someone who I can talk to at any time of day.
3. My Jobs
Not only do they give me money, an important thing, they also provide me with skills that I can use in my career, even though my future job isn't in food service.
4. My Coworkers
They make a food service job better, and they're always there to listen to the good and bad things that are happening.
5. My Cooperating Professional
Being in a high school this semester is great because it confirms what I want to do with my future, but my experience wouldn't be the same if my CP wasn't so willing to let me involve myself in the classroom.
6. My Students
Being able to work in a classroom has been great, and the students that I'm working with are wonderful. I'm very thankful that I get to work with these kids.
7. My Roommate
As someone who is living with their random roommate from freshman year, I'm very grateful that we got along last year and that she's always someone who I can come home and complain to on a daily basis
8. My Dorm
Living in the same dorm for two years is a wonderful experience; I feel that I know my building and the people very well now. It really is a home away from home.
9. My Professors
They are the people who are helping me achieve my future career goals and supplying me with the knowledge that I need to be successful in my future.
10. My Classmates
In college, it's so important to know your classmates, either for group projects or to just make classes better. I'm grateful to know someone in all of my classes, so I have someone who understands when I complain about classes.
11. Technology
I use some form of technology almost every minute of the day when I'm awake. It's such an important part of my life that I wouldn't know what to do without it.
12. My Organizations
Getting involved in groups is what makes a large campus feel smaller, and I'm grateful to have met people with similar interests.
13. Junk Food
Some days are rough, and junk food is there to make it better. Ice cream will always be there after an exam, good or bad.
14. Pasta and Pizza
Honestly, they are the two foods that I eat the most. They are both super important to my diet, and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't eat either of them.
15. Columbus
It is such a diverse city, and there's always something to do any given night of the week. It's a wonderful city to live in and explore.
16. The Bus System
Some days I just don't want to walk where I'm going, so I am always grateful to have a bus stop right outside of my dorm.
17. Animals
Animal videos are some of the cutest things to exist. They are also always there to make a bad day better, and your pets will always love you unconditionally.
18. Naps
The most important part of any college student's life. I am always happy when I have the time to take a nap.
19. Travel
It's so wonderful to be able to travel around the country and around the world. I love being able to go to different places and see different sights.
20. Breaks
The best part of still being in school is the fact that there are breaks to look forward to, like spring, summer, fall, and winter break. It's time to relax and not have to be stressed out for at least a little bit.
21. My Education
I'm grateful for all the academic opportunities that I've had in my life. It's something that has shaped me as a person, and I will always be thankful for it.
22. Myself
Over the past year, I've tried to better myself and plan out my future more concretely. I'm grateful that I've invested in myself and my future, and I'm starting to do that now, instead of waiting until something that I want to happen does.
23. Blankets
As a very cold person, blankets are the one thing that keeps me warm in the winter. Since it's gotten colder, I am very grateful for my blankets.
