22 Thoughts Musicians Have While writing a song

There are no limits to the process of writing a song. It could take 10 minutes, 10 hours, or 10 days. But, there are definitely shared thoughts amongst all musicians while writing a song.

Writing a song...WARNING: May cause complete lack of thought, too much thought, headaches, heartbreak, questioning of yourself as an individual, a need for a muse, humiliation, and possibly maybe some gratification in the end.

1. The song is either too easy to write or too difficult.

2. You get a tune in your head and look dumb while humming trying to make it a reality.

3. You wonder if your music is even "song material," compared to everything else in the world.

4. Screw that.

5. You find THE LYRICS…

6. Too bad those are only 3-5 lines.

7. You sing the only composed lyrics repeatedly until it is engraved in your mind and still nothing else comes.

8. You might go to RhymeZone because words just don't make sense.

9. You break down the English vocabulary into several different individual syllables and words.

10. Then you try to record for yourself, what you already have…

11. And then it sounds off.

12. Back to the drawing board.

13. Okay, you fixed it.

14. Now re-record and it's not bad...

15. But you still have to write the rest of the song and you hope that by the next day after it's all written that you can still remember each and every note the exact way you sang it (the point of recording).

16. Then you have to listen to it in order to remember how you did it and where your mistakes were.

17. ALSO, NOT kidding when I say that people will judge you for listening to something you created. PLEASE GET OUT.

18. Moving on.

19. After, you compose the entire thing and play it non-stop for yourself and possibly for others.

20. The END.

21. P.S. You might hate it later, and it never sees the light of day again.

22. THE END OF THE END.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
