To myself or anyone else turning 21 in the near future. You have been through so much in the last 20 years of life you have lived, don't give up. Here is some advice to you, a fragile flower child needing guidance into the world of adulthood. Enjoy

1. Just because you are old enough doesn't mean you have to drink all the time.

2. You will still be confused about your life and what you want to do regardless of what you think right now.

3. Learn about yourself, take good care of the only human that truly knows whats best.

4. Keep in touch with old friends, if they don't care to take the time out of their lives to connect with you, then forget about them.

5. You don't just have to do everything in your 20's, you have your whole life ahead of you to experience so many things.

6. Only you know what you have to do in order to succeed.

7. Life may seem difficult now but just wait until graduation and adulthood.

8. Love should be your last priority.

9. Perfection will never exist, so just relax and know you're doing your best.

10. When something bad happens to you just know that it will eventually get better.

11. Surround yourself with those who are genuinely interested in your life and your well being.

12. Travel as much as possible.

13. Stop comparing yourself to others, it only makes you feel worse.

14. Take some time for yourself once in a while.

15. You are allowed to say no.

16. Time will slip away from you, don't get lost.

17. Your dreams are not impossible.

18. Family is important; don't forget about them.

19. You will miss out on a lot as you grow up, just know that it will be okay.

20. Music soothes the soul, find new artists when possible.

21. Life is worth living, please don't give up.. even though I know you want to at times.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
