21 Times Derek Shepherd Set Girls' Standards Too High

Over the course of 10 seasons, Grey's Anatomy's Derek Shepherd (A.K.A. McDreamy) continued to set girls standards for men way too high. For those of you who are Grey's Anatomy fans, I'm sure you will be able to agree with these times McDreamy stole our hearts. For the rest of you ladies out there who do not watch Grey's Anatomy, I'm sure this article will make you fall in love with the dreamy neurosurgeon and have you wondering where you can find yourself a Derek Shepherd.

1. When he first met Meredith.

2. When he first officially introduces himself to Meredith.

3. The way he talked about Meredith when everyone was questioning why he was with her.

4. Because he says all of the right things.

5. When Meredith couldn't make up her mind about whether she wanted to be with him or not.

6. The fact that he's an extremely good looking neurosurgeon and we will probably never find a guy like him...ever.

7. When he made that whole speech about wanting to spend the rest of his life with Meredith.

8. When he wrote down his and Meredith's wedding vows on a Post-It note that hung above their bed, "Post-It note marriage."

9. The way he always looks at Meredith and every time you think to yourself, "Why can't I have a Derek Shepard in my life?"

10. When he saved Meredith from drowning.

11. When he stood up to Meredith's mom for treating her badly her whole life.

12. When he had to talk down the crazy shooter in the hospital and we were all screaming at the TV for the guy to not shoot him, because even then he was just as charming.

13. But then he does get shot, but still looks just as handsome when dying, and you're hyperventilating.

14. When he promises Meredith that even with a bullet in his chest he won't die.

15. Because his smile.

16. When he had the idea of adopting Zola because he wanted to start a family with Meredith.

17. Because he is such a good dad to his kids and they have the cutest family ever.

18. How excited he was to find out Meredith was pregnant.

19. When he decided to turn down working for the President to stay with Meredith and the kids.

20. But then Meredith told him to go anyway and they had to spend time apart.

21. Even when taking his last breath, he still managed to steal our hearts while crushing them at the same time.

So thank you, Shonda Rhimes, for creating a character that gave all the girls in the world false expectations in men and then ripping him away from us.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
