Do you ever feel like you have nothing to be happy about? Sure, everybody gets into ruts sometimes, and that's O.K.! However, sometimes getting out of these ruts can be as simple as taking the time to pick little things to be happy about. Here are just a few of the things I've found that I am really thankful for when I take the time to think about them.

Walking inside on a cold day

That initial warm feeling is the BEST.

Putting on my favorite fall jacket.

I always love bringing out new clothes

Seeing all the constantly changing colors

I just love seeing something new out of my window everyday.

Taking a nice deep breath

Although I don't take nearly enough, centering myself with a nice deep breath never fails to bring me happiness and motivation.

Taking 20 minutes to just go on my phone and not think about anything important

Sometimes I just need to be a little lazy.

Feeling full after a nice meal

I REALLY don't appreciate this enough

Listening to music on my way to class

Even when I'm going to class, music is able to get my AMPED

Taking my socks off after a long day

I mean, who can disagree?

Talking to a friend as I walk to class

I love the little conversations I get to have when I see my friend heading the same way as me.

Seeing a stranger smile as I pass them

This little showcase of positivity goes a long way for me.

Getting to wake up under nice warm blankets

I like my room cold and my blankets abundant

Getting a compliment on my outfit

It is crazy that I forget to be thankful when someone compliments me, but when I think back, I always realize how little appreciation I showed.

Handing in a big assignment and feeling relief that it's out of my hands

Even if my grade is going to suck, at lease I'm done!

Having a deep convo with friends

Sometimes just getting a little introspective leaves me feeling really fulfilled.

Getting out of class early even if it's only by 5 minutes

Every. Minute. Matters.

Actually having time to do the reading for class

Class and homework is so much less stressful when I actually know what we're talking about.

Walking into the lounge and seeing my friends every night

Knowing somebody I know is in there to great me after a day of classes is SO nice

Going to mass with people I love

Honestly, this has always been such a privilege and I never take the time to be thankful for it!

Watching videos in class

They are more fun, easier to understand, and add some variety to class. What's not to love?!?!

Getting assignments that are low-key fun

Even though they seem bad because they are work, I realized sometimes my assignments are really interesting!

Laughing so hard I cant breath

With my friends, it really isn't hard

There is so much else I am so thankful for, but these are just a few of the things that I like to take the time and be appreciative of every once and a while. Try to take some time and think about the things that you are thankful for. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
