Finally. The big 2-1. Words can't describe how excited I am, because I can finally say with pride, "I'M LEGAL." Here are 21 realizations I have as I turn this great age.

1. What a time to be aliveeeeeeeee.

2. Some people are better left in the past.

Pumba is right. Keep moving forward.

3. Self-care matters.

Be kind to yourself. If you don't want to go out, tell you friends that you already have plans with yourself.

4. Coffee is essential to my well-being.

5. But never after 9pm...

6. You can't control everything and everyone.

7. You matter.

8. It's okay to love someone from a distance.

9. You're allowed to say no.

10. And not feel guilty about it.

11. When in doubt, pizza is always the answer.

12. Comparing yourself to others isn't helpful.

They are on their own journey just as you are on yours.

13. It's easy to get caught up in our journeys that we forget that others are on theirs.

14. Talking to yourself doesn't make you crazy or weird.

Some of my best conversations I've ever had have been with myself.

15. Don't let others define who you are.

16. Naps are actually the best.

17. Spend time with yourself.

Get to know yourself. Fall in love with yourself and your beauty and imperfections.

18. It's okay to ask for help.

It's not a sign of weakness. You realized that you can't do all or know all. That takes courage.

19. You are not obligated to be nice and friendly all the time.

Just like Leslie Knope.

20. You're not perfect.

21. And that's okay.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
