Don't Want To Vote For Trump But Don't Like Most Democrats? Here's Who To Vote For In The 2020 Election

Just because you preferred Trump in the 2016 election does not mean you have to support him in the 2020 election. Equally, if you didn't like him in 2016, you don't have to vote for one of the "mainstream" candidates such as Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren. A predominant issue within the United States Electoral College System is that a third party, despite the existence, will never be viable to win in a presidential election.

What if I told you there is a candidate whose views align most central to the two parties? Opposed to Trump, Andrew Yang will focus on many policy views in office; opposed to Trump's sole immigration agenda. Likewise, opposed to other democratic candidates, he doesn't focus on only getting Trump out of the White House in 2020. Yes, I understand Biden, Sanders, Warren, and the other democrats: we need to get Trump out of office. Now tell me why you are the one who should replace him.

Here's why you should vote for Yang if you're a democrat. Opposed to Sanders' increased minimum wage, Yang will propose a UBI where every American 18 years or older would receive $1,000 a month, no strings attached (also referred to as a "Freedom Dividend." He believes this will not only increase the economy and labor force but will help those who experience a decrease in work due to technological increases in AI and automation. In the realm of education, he wants to support HBCU's and wants to end active shooter drills in schools (as they have been shown to give students more anxiety than knowledge) by strengthening gun safety laws. Furthermore, he recognizes climate change is a pertinent issue that should have been addressed a decade ago and will take action to help stop it from progressing. Some criminal justice reforms include reducing mass incarceration and legalizing marijuana.

Here's why you should vote for Yang if you're a republican. Unlike some, such as Sanders, Yang recognizes socialism is not the key. At the same time, he understands that there are flaws with capitalism. So, he wants to reform capitalism through what he calls "Human-Centered Capitalism." With regard to immigration, Yang wants to allow immigrants to become citizens, through a legal process. Lastly, instead of making college completely free like Sanders propose's Yang wants to only, yet efficiently, lower student loan debt.

Andrew Yang is a democrat running for the 2020 presidential election. Although, he would be good for everyone in the United States. He's a candidate who has both parties' minds in interest. The days of having to choose between two of the lesser evils are gone. Vote for Andrew Yang 2020. You can find more of his policy issues here.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
