We are the result of prayer
Of a broken hallelujah
We are the flowers of wet soil
Showered by tears
We are the product of
multiple factors unforeseen
We are the sum of beautiful
additions to this church.
We are the harvest of a seed
Planted by those before us
We are a exhibit of sacrifice.
Of those taking chances and rolling the dice.
We are standing on the backs of laborers who were not content
You are resting on the precepts is the fervent
You do not know the cost of the oil
our alabaster box is bursting at the seems
Young boys turned to wise men following a dream.
Hundreds of families melding into one.
Congregants by choice but the church by blood
You are answered prayers
You are the revival my predecessors prayed for
You are the word spoken in private coming to fruition in public
You are the manifestation of what was brewing in the secret place.
We are not mistake.
Or a consequence of a action.
You are carrying the weight of their prayers on us.
You think we would stop?
You would like to us fall?
We are the chosen generation
The praying churches culmination
We don't follow the culture but we are the catalysts.
We are the pavilion of the miraculous,
we are the house of nations,
Building off the foundations that was laid
The rejected stone became the corner stone
You saw a death sentence I saw a womb
You thought God had his plan on pause well let me hit resume.
You saw a man in a tomb
I saw man that was planted
You see a church stagnant
I see a church germinating
Even Jesus looked defeated right before his resurrection
So you can cast your stones, get your best whips, make the most piercing crown, and the people can gather around
You can watch us get crucified, criticized and ostracized.
But make sure you stick around for the resurrection.
Don't only be there for our downfall but also for the ascension.
Don't look for what last saw me, don't look in the tomb.
Look to where you would have never expected and make some room.
We are not a conclusion but a beginning.
You can walk out now, but I'd stick around to witness
Jesus's story for our church and It isn't Finished.
