Every year I attempt to have either a mantra or word to live by, this year, I chose discovery. I encourage my fellow readers to choose something for themselves.

We won't reflect on the past, only what's to come in 2019. Discovery of what you may add? In actually, there's so much I'd like to discover. Discover parts of me that have been hidden away for so long, discover and travel to new places in College Station, Texas, the United States, all around the world! I'd like to discover new music and artists that I can connect with. I already have a pretty solid group of friends but I'm always down meet new people and find individuals who I'm able to connect with on different levels. I need to move out of my comfort zone and into new confident skin that will allow me to grow into the person I'd like to become. I'd like to influence others that there is a place beyond the darkness and although it may not be easy, it's possible.

I'm typically a closed off person, and it's something that has kept me from becoming close to lots of people. I'd like to discover the strength to let those walls down to the people that mean the most to me. I don't wish to keep them in the dark any longer. I'd like to discover a new profound positive attitude. With a positive attitude comes a positive mindset. Something that I've been lacking for such a long time. I'm ready for this change. I'm ready for what's to come in 2019. Although it may not always be bursts of sunshine and rainbows like it is in the movies, I have a better feeling about this year. I have a support system like never before and the best is yet to come. Here's to 2019 and all the friends, memories, happiness, and discovery that comes with it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
