As the year comes around to an end, we are always hearing how people say "New Year, New Me." Honestly, I do not even understand why people are still saying this.
No matter how good or how bad the year was to you, you shouldn't be saying that it is a "new you" just because a new year is rolling around. If you want to make a fresh start in your life, it should not be just because there is a new calendar year rolling around. When people say that they are going to make a fresh start in the new year, I often think to myself, how long are you going to keep up with this "new year, new me"?
Many people who make New Year's Resolutions do not keep up with them after the first couple weeks of the new year. I have often wondered why do they just quit something that they were so determined to do. Even though I have never come up with an exact answer to this, I do believe one thing.
If you are going to make a New Year's Resolution, make it something that you really want to do and nothing something that you think that you need to do. Many people think that one resolution that they need to make is going to the gym more and eating healthy again. Making this a resolution is just going to make you not want to do it.
You will feel as if you are being forced to go into the gym and you are going to end up hating it. If you want to start working out and getting healthy again, don't wait until the new year to do it. Start doing it now, start limiting what you eat and start with home workouts.
But most importantly, believe in yourself.
