Every year the biggest celebrities get dressed up and together for award shows to prove to themselves and others how great they are. And every year they never fail to give us some juicy gossip.

So for those of you that don't own a tv or live under a rock, here's the top 5 craziest things that happened at the 2018 Golden Globes

1. (Almost) All attending dressed in black to raise awareness for sexual assault.

Sexual Harassment and Sexual assault in the workplace, and especially in the entertainment industry has been a major issue, always, but especially recently. Every time you click on the news there's another allegation against another person. It's extremely sad to see such a thing, but it was really nice to see the men and women of Hollywood get together to stand up against such terrible crimes.

2. Blanca Blanco did the opposite of dress in black.

In fact, she wore one of the most provocative red dresses imaginable. This was very controversial in that people on Blanca's side were stating that by shaming her for wearing red we are part of the problem, while others were saying her actions were disrespectful. If what Blanca Blanco was trying to accomplish was to get her name out there, she did it because I had to google who she was but now just no one cares who she is. Blanca had her own reasons, but it just seemed like the wrong time and place to make such a statement.

3. Tonya Harding was thanked?????

So everyone knows Tonya Harding, the ice skater who "allegedly had something to do" with the attack of Nancy Kerrigan. Allison Janney who was in the movie I, Tonya THANKED Tonya Harding in her speech. I don't know it just seems a little distasteful to thank her and say nothing about Nancy Kerrigan? Where was Kanye when you need him

4. Some stranger things happened with a L'Oreal ad

Winona Ryder was the star of a very interesting? ad for L'Oreal. No hate against Winona, everyone can agree she was amazing in Stranger Things.....buuuuut the entire point of the Golden Globes revolved around not focusing on appearances, and this commercial basically said, a comeback is possible as long as you don't have split ends.

5. Natalie Portman couldn't help herself

She was the announcer for the Best Director, or in her words.... "the all-male nominees." Well played Natalie, well played.

6. Debra Messing called out E! ... on E!

She said IN AN INTERVIEW WITH E! "you know, I was so shocked to hear that E! doesn't believe in paying their female co-hosts the same as their male co-hosts." So awesome, so savage, exactly what we needed.

So the Golden Globes this year was not just scandalous because of who won what, but because the people who have a voice, spoke up for those that don't. I think this is the start to what's going to be a revolutionary year, not only in Hollywood, but across the country.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
