Most of us might make the same resolutions every year, and there not all that original, but that doesn't make them any less important. With the start of spring semester around the corner and a new year full of new things, this list of New Year's resolutions is a reminder of the little changes you can make.
- Eat something new every week.
- Write something new every day.
- Stop cramming for exams.
- Go to the gym on a steady basis. And yes, you actually have to stay and get on a machine.
- Be organized.
- Find a new hobby you enjoy and stick with it.
- Watch less TV.
- Watch more documentaries.
- Keep up with the news. Getting updates on how Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's baby is doing doesn’t count.
- Put down your phone, at least while you’re studying.
- Stay in touch with people you care about even when you get busy. Don’t ignore the friends who stayed by your side in high school just because they’re farther away now.
- Go outside!
- Volunteer because it makes you feel good not because you think you should.
- Check at least 1 item off your bucket list, even something small.
- Stop stressing over the perfect Instagram. Or Snap Story. Or VSCO. No one cares how you look but you.
- Be honest even when it’s difficult.
- Save money. No more Starbucks every day.
- Read more. Actually doing the assigned readings for class might be a good place to start.
- Eat healthier, as healthy as dining hall food allows.
- Be kind.
