With summer quickly approaching, every concert-crazy music fan is ready for festival season. From Coachella to Stagecoach to Electric Forest, there is an endless variety of summer music festivals to snag tickets for. It seems like a lot of the popular festivals have similar lineups for this summer, so I'm excited that the Governors Ball lineup is a bit more unique. The June 2-4 festival in Randalls Island Park has a little bit of everything for everyone (except country fans...sorry).
Here is a playlist for each day of the 2017 Governors Ball:
Friday
Friday's lineup has lots of artists to be excited about: Lorde, Chance the Rapper, Kehlani, Tove Lo, Flume, and more (I wish I could put Flume on my list of favorites a million times). Although this day has the most top "radio" artists, there are also smaller acts to look out for like Tkay Maidza, Judah & The Lion, and Arizona.
Saturday
Saturday going to be the day you won't want to miss, rain or shine. Although it may have less of the big, pop-culture famous names, the lineup is the best as a whole in my opinion. Artists range from Marshmello, Pheonix, and Saint Motel to Banks and The Head and The Heart to A$AP FERG, Childish Gambino, Rae Sremmurd, YG, and even Wu-Tang Clan. NOT TO MENTION LOCAL NATIVES, a band that is extremely underrated in my opinion. I'm so excited to see Local Natives perform live that I could cry and if "Black Balloons" isn't in their set I actually will.
Sunday
Although Sunday has the weakest lineup overall, Cage the Elephant will be performing so the day is 100% worth it. Yes, I bought a ticket for Sunday solely because of Cage (even though they're actually playing at a lot of other festivals this year) but there really are so many other great artists performing that day too: Wiz Khalifa, Phantogram, Mac Demarco, The Orwells, Logic, and many more.
