2017: The Year Of The Glo
Celebrity Hive

Finally, after several tiring years of awkwardness and feeling less than confident, millennials are stepping out well-hydrated, well-oiled, and all-around glowing. Behold, the 2017 glo up.

There are two types of glo ups: the post-puberty transition and the 2017 mood. The former refers to the difference between those grimy middle school years versus the hot, fierce person one develops into during or after high school. This is the more traditional glo up and revolves more around clothing styles and looks. On the other hand, the latter type of glo up deals with mental health and how that positivity is reflected onto your glowing looks (with the skin emphasized, but with fashion included).

While the traditional glo up is still very much considered a thing, 2017 brought around a deliciously positive craze for happiness and physical and mental health. On social media especially, people are sharing pictures of their progress more than ever before. And, the people are here for it.

Yes, I will say that there is still an absurd amount of pettiness lurking on sites, like Twitter, but there is an equal, if not greater, amount of posts pertaining to progress, people gassing each other up (which essentially means rooting for), and the color yellow.

2017 is shaping up to be quite an interesting year and the refreshing splash of positivity is counteracting the enveloping negativity spiraling from political arguments, pettiness, and other sources of stress/pessimism. We’re only halfway through the year, so we’ve got so much time to keep on improving (and it’s not like it has to stop once 2018 arrives)! What’s better than positivity through glo ups and happiness?

I, for one, am LIVING for all these glo ups. Seeing people grow and progress is such a good feeling; I love that people are becoming more confident and really feeling themselves. Realizing your worth is what so much of it is about. You can’t truly radiate happiness unless you are light on the inside, too.

And that is what the spirit of the glo up is all about: changing your internal energy into something positive. Your mindset is so, so important. Once you begin to take on the right mindset, you will be able to view the world from a whole new perspective and you will have a better sense of self. Not only that, but you’ll be able to embrace change and continue to grow and better yourself!

I still have a long, long way to go on my personal journey, but I’m not about to get discouraged because I know the results will be well-worth it! I am so excited to see how I change and become happier with myself. Confidence is something I, along with most of the rest of the world I’m sure, struggle with and knowing that I have the power to change this is incredible.

With all that being said, here’s to fulfilling the 2017 mood even more. Keep on glowing, gals and guys!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
