2016 ELECTION FORECAST
READER'S DIGEST

With less than 14 days until November the 8th, I am releasing my official election forecast for the 2016 General Election. My method of forecasting is a combination of data from every election since 1974, over 2 billion votes, trends, economic data, sociological data, immigration data, and the political climate currently, and of course, every major poll. These factors give me the ability to accuratley forecast the winners of this election. Without further hesitation let's dive in.

The Presidency of The United States

I predict, that HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON will win the presidency this election. Hillary's race to the White House was a hard fought one. Beginning in the primaries, Hillary had faced much mudslinging from all sides, but managed to win the candidacy. The polls show her trending upward, 12 points according to an ABC News Poll. However, she must fight until the very last day, and not become complacent. She must not be assuring nor neglectful to her electorate. How did I get this prediction? My prediction was at first, common sense. The same majority that elected Barrack Obama would not elect Trump. This all changed when Gary Johnson and Jill Stein tilted the tables slightly toward Trump. The Green Party and Libertarian candidate have no chance of winning. But their numbers surprisingly, if only for a little while upset the electoral map and at one point, even made it look like Trump could win. But after the third debate, when Trump failed to expand his voter base, Stein fell to 2% and Johnson fell to 3%. This cinched the noose on the Trump campaign and paved a way for Clinton to nab the election. Can this prediction change? Yes. Of course. If Trump can pick up Florida, every battleground state, and pick up at least 2 solid blue states, he can win the presidency.

The Senate of The United States Congress

I predict that DEMOCRATS WILL WIN BACK CONTROL of the senate. Hillary's surprising momentum and large poll gaps have given her time to campaign for democratic senate hopefuls. Her rise in popularity and Trump's one man war against the GOP have opened a door that was supposed to be locked. The odds are in the democrats favor at this point.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
