We all have those days when nothing seems to go right. Here are some steps to take, to hopefully change your mindset, and improve your day!

1.Take a deep breath
Push that belly out! Square breathing is a technique that can help anyone. Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, hold that for 4 seconds, breathe out through your mouth for 4 seconds, and hold that for 4 seconds.
2.Unplug!
Turn your phone, laptop, I-Pad, and video games off. Yes, I mean off. Stop looking at them. Let your brain relax!
3. Write about it.
Get a notebook out, write down your feelings. Write the good and bad things that have happened during your day. It doesn’t have to be a diary, but writing down your feelings, is a great stress reliever. Plus it's great to look back on.
4. Accept that not every day is going to be a good day.
You have to go through tough times, to really appreciate to good ones. You will learn to not take any day for granted.
5. Crying is acceptable.
Crying is not something to be ashamed of. Whether you are sad, overwhelmed, frustrated, mad, or you feel like you just need a good cry. Do it. I promise you will feel better!
6. Stop blaming others.
It’s no one’s fault that you are having a bad day, the universe isn’t against you. Just take a breath and think about the good things that have happened in your day.
7. Let a lesson come out of the struggle.
Figure out what it is that you are struggling with and learn from it, so it doesn’t happen again.
8. Success won’t happen overnight!
It’s going to take time for you to reach all of your goals. Preserver and chase your dreams, but realize they are going to take time.
9. It’s okay to ask for help.
Everyone needs help once in awhile. It’s not something to be embarrassed about. You will learn from asking questions, take steps toward your future.
10. Eat some dark chocolate.
It's a proven fact, I promise!!
11. Cuddle an animal.
Lay down with your dog, cat, hamster, or chinchilla. Tell them all of your secrets, they won’t tell! Just let them love you.
12. Do something that you enjoy.
Go for a walk outside, play video games, watch a movie. Take some time to do what you love.
13. Look at your day in a different perspective.
Chose a happier way of thinking about the things are happening. Don’t place blame on anyone. Use a different mindset, that you know will calm you down, and make you happier.
14. Share your feelings with someone you trust.
Getting things off your chest, is one of the best types of medication. Stop bottling up all of your emotions, and spill!
15. Distract yourself.
Go out with friends to see a movie, or go to the park, do something that will make your head stop spinning.
16. If bad times weren’t so bad, the good times wouldn’t be so good.
You have to climb the mountain to see the view. You have to appreciate the struggle, and realize that it is going to help you in the long run.
17. Take a nap.
ZZZzzzzz. Count backwards from 100 by 3’s, and let all of the worries slip away.
18. Walk barefoot in the grass.
This might sound weird, but it works. I’m not a hippie or a tree-hugger or anything. Connecting with the Earth directly, can charge your body and give you so much relief.
19. Give yourself a pep talk!
Stand up in front of the mirror and do a power pose! Feet shoulder width apart, chin up and hands on your hips. You are a strong human being, and you can do this!!
20. Have a dance party.
Do your best Christina and Meredith dance party. Dance all of your worries away, and just be.
