Stepping outside in what seems like a blizzard is a terrifying and annoying task. Constantly debating whether to step in the snow and get your shoes wet or walk on the sidewalk and be at risk of slipping on ice is not what you really want to be thinking about that early in the morning. On top of that, when you’re walking to class, it’s not like you’re going anywhere fun. Maybe if you were headed to get food or the mall, risking your life in those seemingly evil flakes of snow would be worth it, but when you are just going to sit through an hour-long lecture, there’s no light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are 20 thoughts every college student has while walking through this “winter wonderland:”

1. “Do I really need all of these layers?”

2. *Leaves warm building* “Yes, I do need these three pairs of pants on.”

3. “This bus better hurry up.”

4. “If I fall on ice and there’s no salt, can I sue?"

5. “I think my ears are going to fall off.”

6. “Did that car seriously just splash me with nasty slush snow?”

7. “These drivers need to be patient. Please, car, let me cross the street. I’m the one who is outside freezing while you have your heat blasting and seat warmers on.”

8. “Is this snow seriously stuck in my eyelashes?”

9. “Do I really need to go to this class?”

10. “Why do I pay so much to go here just to have sidewalks not be shoveled?”

11. “I should have gone to school in Florida.”

12. “Maybe I should have stayed in bed.”

13. “I wish two hour delays were for college too.”

14. “Maybe I should reward myself by stopping to get a hot chocolate.”

15. “I wish no one would look at me while I am struggling like this.”

16. “If I slip one more time…”

17. “Finally, the building is in sight!”

18. “Do I really have to take my hands out of my pockets to open the door?”

19. “Now it’s time to unbundle… just to have to redress in an hour when class ends.”

20. “Why don’t people wipe their feet off? That squeaking sound is awful and they track salt all over the floor. UGH.”

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
