Nearly a month after our counterparts at other universities, students at the University of Chicago are moving in, ready to start Fall Quarter. For many of us, we've been anticipating this day for what felt like an eternity. It's a chaotic process, going from zero to one hundred nearly instantaneously. From the stress of move in, trying to get all of your stuff for classes together, to the actual classes themselves, it's a very overwhelming time. There are so many things to do and so little time. I know my thoughts were running crazy once I got back to campus.
1. I feel like I just moved out ten minutes ago.
2. What do you mean classes start on Monday?
3. I don't want to go back to eating dining hall food.
4. Wait--the dining hall isn't as awful anymore.
5. Thank God my dorm is actually five minutes from campus this year.
6. *Looks at syllabus* Why on Earth did I take this class?
7. I hate the quarter system.
8. How do I have a midterm in three weeks?!
9. All of the first years look so excited! I can't believe that was me last year.
10. Why are people still taking pictures of the Reg?
11. North looks like a hotel and it's not fair.
12. Insomnia Cookies and Dollop Coffee are going to kill my budget.
13. Oh my God make the RSO emails stop.
14. I feel like there are a million things I haven't done.
15. *Looks at bill for textbooks* I'm going to cry.
16. Oh good the drama on the Facebook groups is starting again.
17. Thanks to the UPass I may actually be able to go downtown.
18. I am simultaneously ready and completely unprepared for the year to start.
19. I need to try harder to stay on top of my work this year.
20. Aw it's so good to see my friends again.
Good luck, UChicago!
