20 Things You'll Miss During Summer Away from TCU
Makenzie Keely

There are less than six weeks left of school until summer, and for the first time in my life, I am sad that the school year is coming to a close. I have had the most amazing nine months of my life and I am so incredibly happy that I chose TCU. But, freshman year wasn't all fun and games. What many people forget to include about their college experience is the hardships they endured. For the first month or two of school there were a few too many lonely nights. And not to mention a few too many poor grades and few too many skipped classes. Although, there were hardships, the moments of joy have completely outweighed the adversity. You will miss TCU, no doubt about it.

1. You'll miss being able to go knock on your best friends door at 2am to tell her all the insignificant details about your night out.

2. You'll miss being able to walk to Fuzzy's on Thursday night for some late night munchies.

3. Despite the fact that the food is not the best, you'll miss your weekly dorm family dinners.

4. You won't have the same independence.

5. You'll definitely miss Pizza Snob. Who doesn't like being able to customize their own pizza?

6. You'll miss jumping into Frog Fountain on your way home from Lab.

7. You'll secretly miss going to Lab even though you constantly complain about how ratchet it is.

8. You'll miss going to dinner with your sisters before Chapter on Sunday nights.

9. You'll miss being able to go to Bluu 2 to grab some Blue Bell Ice Cream. You know they'll never run out.

10. You'll miss spring baseball games and fall football.

11. You'll miss Sweet Sammies, Steel City Pops, and the Food Park Truck.

12. You'll miss study dates at Brewed.

13. You'll miss day trips to Dallas.

14. You'll miss picnics in Trinity Trails.

15. You'll miss laying out in the commons.

16. You'll miss going to ignite and then late night at the Bluu.

17. You'll miss sneaking into the stadium at midnight to playing football with your friends on the field.

18. You'll miss random concerts in the commons.

19. You'll miss all the darties, tailgates, mixers, and formals.

20. Even though you may not admit, TCU is your home, and you will miss it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
