One week away was enough to make me want to go back.

20 Things I'll Miss About Villanova

Missing college is normal, right? Missing the all too familiar campus that continues to surprise me every time a new year starts. Missing the people, (certain) professors and greasy food that always lead to regrets the next morning. It's all expected. But there's more that Villanova has to offer that students miss almost immediately after they drive away down Lancaster Ave.

1. The Quad

2. Campus Corner food at 2 a.m. in the morning

3. Wells Fargo tailgates, and all of the champagne that goes along with them

4. Taking artsy pictures of the church

5. Sprinting back and forth between West and Main campus in 15 minutes (just kidding, no one misses this)

6. Pizzarella food (especially the garlic knots)

7. Successfully avoiding Lancaster traffic during rush hour

8. Waking up to the "class is cancelled today" email, because work never sends those

9. Taking trips to Spit dinner

10. Knowing at least one person you know will be pulling an all nighter when you need someone to talk

11. Sitting at the Oreo when it finally gets warm again

12. Qdoba happy hour

13. Sitting outside Connelly to people watch instead of write that 5 page paper due tomorrow

14. Being able to convince your friends that going out on a Wednesday is a good idea

15. Walking into the gym and seeing the NCAA Championship trophy

16. Buying yourself something at the bookstore when you deserve it

17. Seeing Jay Wright driving his golf cart around campus

18. Picking up a care package from your parents after you kindly asked them to send one

19. Knowing that binge watching Netflix for 7 hours a day is totally acceptable

20. Never knowing what a night out will bring you, because the nights you expect nothing is when the most happens

21. Knowing that Villanova will always be there to welcome you home

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
