20 Things To Do If You Don't Want To Regret Your 20s
Andrew Dong

Our 20's are some of our best years, we're really living in the now. Moment to moment, we never know what's around the corner. We never know what we want or how we feel, and if we do we usually change our mind a few days later. I'm always worried about saying "no" to something that I will later regret. So, I came up with this list of 20 things you should do if you don't want to regret your 20's.

1. Have the courage to say how you feel, always.

2. Look in the mirror and ask yourself, is this person looking back at me the person I've always wanted to be?

3. Stop dramatizing everything. Brush off certain situations and move on.

4. Have something to talk about that isn't other people.

5. Read.

6. Have the courage to walk away from something or someone you're better off without.

7. Stop being so hard on yourself. You're doing a lot better than you think.

8. Learn how to be nice to people, and I mean genuinely nice. This is one of the most powerful things you can learn. Being nice is a great legacy to leave behind.

9. Leave everything on the table. Don't hold anything back, wear your heart on your sleeve, live so that if you died tomorrow you'd have lived exactly how you wanted.

10. Be happy with what you have but never stop trying to attain more.

11. Write out your goals in the beginning of the week. Try your hardest to accomplish at least one of them.

12. Don't burn bridges.

13. Wake up early and catch the sunrise from your front yard or back porch. Appreciate the little things the Earth gives us every day.

14. Put your all into everything. If something doesn't work out, at least you will always know that you gave it all you possibly could have.

15. Go out on a Tuesday night sometimes. Stop working so hard.

16. Always tell the truth.

17. Stop pushing people away, try falling in love with one of them instead.

18. Go on a date with that annoying guy from the bar, you might actually have a good time and if not, it was free food and a funny story to tell.

19. Save. Your. Money.

20. Don't sweat the little things, be happy with yourself and your life. You're doing great.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
