I Asked 7 Twenty-Something-Year-Olds To Define Love And Their Answers Will Have You Swooning

In your early twenties, love is confusing. Some people have mixed thoughts about love, some have been in love, others haven't. So to get a feel from the people I know, I asked my friends how they define love and my heart melted at their responses.

1. 20-year-old Female

"Love is a deep feeling when you care strongly for someone or something and no matter what happens you will always be there."

2. 23-year-old Female

"Love is a feeling that you can be yourself around that person and know they care for you unconditionally, whether its a friend, family member, or love interest. A hug from them is like coming home."

3. 20-year-old Male

"Love is knowing you would be perfectly content with that person for the rest of your life. When you look at them you see a future, not only with yourself but with them. Love is joy and happiness. Love is knowing you're safe with them and no matter what happens, they have your back."

4. 22-year-old Male

"Love manifests in many different ways. Love for friends, family, animals, ideas, etc. But at its base, it shows you care for whatever it may be and want to be around it, thinking of it, and enjoying your time with it."

5. 21-year-old Female

"Love is putting someone or something else before yourself. It is kindness, patience, care, and truth."

6. 21-year-old Male

"Love is ugly and love is beautiful. Love is one of the most used words in the English language, yet, it means something different for everyone. For me, love is the feeling of belonging. Whether it is watching a movie with your family at night and knowing how much you mean to them and vice versa, or if it is embracing your partner at their best and their worst. Love makes the world a better place, but it has a mysterious way of doing so. Love is truth and love is a facade, love is happiness and love is sadness, love is life and love is death, love is the only thing that you take with you when you leave earth. Love is everything."

7. 20-year-old Female (Me)

"Love is a feeling of never wanting to leave someone's side. You are emotionally attached and rooted in their lives, you genuinely care about every aspect of them. Love is putting your heart in someone else's hand even though they could ruin it in a heartbeat. Love is the epitome of trust and vulnerability. Love is inspiring and uplifting, it should lead you to the best times of your life."

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
