It's fall y'all!

It's now October, and the air (somewhat-thanks, Indiana) begins to cool. The leaves are changing, and we begin to pull out our big sweaters. Now, some may argue summer is best because it's hot, you can go to the beach and there's no school. My argument? It's hot. Not just hot, it's humid. Therefore, I've created a list of reasons as to why fall is obviously the best season.

1. Big sweaters

Sweaters are warm, cozy, comfy and cute. Need I say more?

2. Pumpkin patches and apple orchards

You will take aesthetic pictures galore during any event.

3. Flannel

Flannel is always acceptable IMHO, but in the fall it definitely is.

4. HALLOWEEN

It is the best holiday, hands down. Halloween includes makeup, costumes and candy, which means non-stop fun (probably due to a sugar high).

5. Haunted houses

I worked at one, and it was incredibly satisfying, especially because it was raising money for charity. It is a blast to actually go through one. Know your limits and get you some (tribute to my Zombie Farm family)

6. Hot chocolate

The perfect drink to sip around a bonfire.

7. Bonfires

Bonfires bring people together for fun that creates a multitude of inside jokes and incredible memories.

8. Pumpkin spice everything

Nothing says fall quite like a pumpkin spice latte.

9. Cute boots

Finally, you can break out the combat boots, ankle boots and Timberlands without your feet catching on fire because it's too hot.

10. Scarves

Scarves are cute, warm and add an element of fashion to dress up any outfit. Plain t-shirt? Add a scarf!

11. Army jackets and leather jackets

Jackets are great for layering and looking high fashion while being warm and cute.

12. Color-changing leaves

There's nothing more beautiful than the multitude of colors of leaves in the fall.

13. Leaf piles

A blast from your childhood-that leads to sneezing, but it's worth it!

14. Cool weather

Finally, when you step outside, you're not running face first into a wall of heat and humidity. Also, the inside of the buildings is no longer as humid as it is outside.

15. Fall makeup

For girls, the fall means darker make up, which leads to a boost of confidence. The power of dark-colored lipstick is incredible.

16. Blankets

There is not much better than wrapping up into a burrito of warmth on a chilly fall day (with hot chocolate or pumpkin spice something, of course).

17. Gateway to the year

Happy Hallowthanksmasyear! Halloween is the start of holidays to come. You cannot wait for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.

18. School breaks

In the fall, students are blessed with fall break AND Thanksgiving break. Definitely two things to be thankful for.

19. Cuddle weather

Whether it's with a significant other, your pet, a pillow, or a giant blanket, the fall is the perfect time for cuddling. So, snuggle up and hunker down to a Netflix marathon!

20. Apple cider

Hands down one of the best warm drinks out there, and definitely one of the major drinks of fall.

Now, as you can clearly see, it's hard to argue why any other season could be better than fall. Get ready everyone, fall is coming!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
