Being a 19 year-old girl, it's kind of easy to forget how precious life is.
As young adults, we take each day for granted. We spend precious moments scrolling through Twitter feeds or capturing the perfect selfie.
But there is so much more to life. There are times when I'm actually convinced that my life is in shambles over the most ridiculous things (like today) and so I decided to make a list of ~little~ things that make me incredibly happy.
1. Waking up to the sound of birds chirping.
I don't know what it is, but this sets my mood for the day. I remember waking up to my alarm during the school year and immediately hearing the birds outside. I went from feeling sorry for myself to being awake and excited to take on the day.
2. The feeling after a good night's sleep.
I honestly forget what this feels like. But when the day comes, I'll be very happy.
3. Perfectly ripened avocados.
It takes a lot of effort into maintaining the perfect avocado.
4. Summer nights.
5. Bonfires.
There is nothing better than sitting around a fire with some s'mores and close friends on a warm night.
6. Being tan.
Two words: no makeup.
7. Puppies.
Whenever I'm sad, it's almost like my dog catches on. Although he's 14 now, he's a Yorkie and basically still a puppy to me.
8. Non-crowded beaches.
No sand on your towel, more space, and more relaxation.
9. Ice cream.
I was never much of a dessert person, but ice cream is definitely the one thing I can never turn down. Especially anything peanut butter flavored.
10. Peanut butter.
I put peanut butter on almost everything I eat. I'm starting to like almond butter better, though.
11. Payday.
Money. What's better?
12. Tea on cold nights.
Winter is actually the worst season, so tea is kind of my escape to feeling warm on bitter cold winter nights.
13. Driving with the windows down.
There's something about blasting music with all the windows down that just makes me feel extremely happy.
14. The color pink.
15. Movie nights.
With some popcorn.
16. Old Taylor Swift music.
Not kidding when I say she has written a song for any and every emotion you feel.
17. Fresh sheets.
After shaving your legs.
18. Cool showers after the beach.
After spending hours burning the sh*t out of my skin under the hot sun rays, I love to take a nice, cool shower.
19. Sleeping in.
20. Brunch.
Best and most important meal of any day.
It's so easy to take things for granted. Sometimes all you need to do is sit down and make a list of the things that make you happiest. It's guaranteed to reduce sadness.
