1. "I am beautiful."

Yes, you are. And don't let anyone tell you any differently. If they don't see it, then they aren't worth it.

2. "I am independent."

I may be independent, but I will always need my mom's reassurance. There's nothing wrong with that, right?

3. "I determine my own worth."

YES. YOU. DO.

4. "And I don't need a man to do that for me."

Never lower your standards for a guy. Never be someone you aren't just to impress a guy.

5. "I don't have to follow the crowd."

Beat to your own drum. It's too exhausting to keep up with what everyone else is doing. Doing what you want to do is a lot less work.

6. "I love my body and that's all that matters."

Do NOT ever look at yourself and be unhappy with what you see. You are healthy and alive, so don't spend your energy wishing you could change yourself. Instead, change that attitude and strut your stuff!

7. "My health is more important than a good time."

Often times, we brush away our health issues to power through the week or even weekend. But don't. At this age, you must be responsible enough to take care of yourself.

8. "My friends will always be there to support me."

At this point, quality is greater than quantity. You don't need 15 close friends anymore. Instead, four friends who will prove endless support are all you need.

9. "My family will always have my best interest."

While they may have opinions that you do not always agree with, they just want you to be your best self. Ugh, I miss my parents. Take advantage of them while you have them.

10. "My social media profiles are not as important as I think."

Isn't it tiring? Trying to pose at the right angle and picking the perfect filter? Doesn't it get old? Trying to put on a show for a majority of people you don't even talk to anymore? Start living in the moment and not on social media.

11. "Laugh as much as I can."

A good laugh is the key to all worries. Make some memories, and just have fun.

12. "Stress is not good for my body."

This is a fact.

13. "Staying in does not make for good stories."

Go out and explore the world. See what the places around you have to offer. You never know what you'll discover.

14. "I can't control everything, and that's OK."

At 20, you realize that life takes the reins and steers you rather than you steering your own life. And that's OK. Everything will happen for a different reason, you just have to see where life takes you and appreciate where you end up.

15. "Girl drama is not worth it."

When you're 20, you've already been a part of enough girl fights and sarcastic comments to last a lifetime. Don't be hung up on the petty drama that will never be remembered.

16. "I'm never too old to cry."

Sometimes you just have to let it out. There is no age limit on a good cry.

17. "Being kind will get me everywhere."

It's as simple as saying hi to someone and not pretending you're on your phone as you walk past that person.

18. "Being fake will get me nowhere."

It's so easy to detect, and you aren't kidding anyone but yourself. Being genuine isn't that hard.

19. "Home will always be waiting for me."

Along with the food that comes with it.

20. "Don't wish away these next few years, enjoy it while it lasts."

This is a time for friendships and memories, so you better hold on tight and let every minute count.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
