A huge part of life is improving yourself and becoming better than you were. So it's no wonder that when looking to better ourselves a lot of people turn to fictional characters to see what they want to become. Here are 20 women who inspire me to be the best version of me.
1. Sutton Brady - "The Bold Type"
This girl is the epitome of going after what she wants. even though she has no experience in fashion compared to other applicants she works her ass off and gets the fashion internship she wants. When the pay isn't what she expects, she tries to negotiate for higher pay or benefits and a date down the road to adjust her pay and she gets it. Sutton is the queen of knowing her worth and getting what she wants.
2. Eliza Schuyler -"Hamilton"
Eliza is the definition of a cinnamon roll because she is too good for this world, too pure. She's so kind that her sister knows that if she asks her to step off of Alexander, she would because she loves her sister so much. After she marries Hamilton and he gets sent home from the war she makes sure that he knows that as long as she has him, she doesn't care how much money or status they have. She even eventually forgives Hamilton for cheating on her, publishing all the details of his affair so everyone else could know about it before her, and causing the problem that her oldest son dueled and died over because the girl doesn't hold a grudge.
3 . Angelica Schuyler - "Hamilton"
Angelica is the take-no-shit woman we all want to be when someone is testing us. Right after the Declaration of Independence is written she immediately is pushing for women to be included in the next world changing document. Not only that, but she embodies chicks before dicks. She met Alexander first but realized her sister had feelings for him and let Eliza pursue him without ever letting her know about her feelings. When Alexander cheats on Eliza, Angelica cuts him off completely because her sister is the most important person in her life.
4. Ginny Baker - "Pitch"
Ginny is the first woman to play on a major league baseball team but she doesn't want to be looked at like some god for it. She just loves baseball and wants to play the sport at the highest level, but she understands that people will be looking to her and tries to be someone worth looking up to. And she isn't perfect, she understandingly cracks under the pressure of being in such a public spotlight and goes to a therapist for help because you can't deal with everything yourself.
5. Riley Matthews - "Girl Meets World"
Riley is the sunshine child of my heart. She constantly looks for the good in every situation and believes wholeheartedly in everything and everyone. She supports her friends through everything they do and anything they go through. Riley is naive at times, but she just wants everything to be good and couldn't we all use a little more of that.
6. Amy Santiago - "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"
Look at this nerd. Amy is into doing things right and doing them well, she likes paperwork and filing and writes everything single spaced and double sided (Santiago style) so she can fit more on a page. But Amy is also ambitious and knows what she wants. She wants to eventually be the captain of her own precinct so when the Nine Nine gets a new captain she immediately tries to get him to be her mentor. When her boss and her boyfriend leave her out of the yearly Halloween game because they think she'll work for the other one, she says fuck you guys and goes and wins the game all on her own.

She doesn't show much emotion so sometimes her friends don't realize it but Rosa loves them all and would kill for them.
8. Katniss Everdeen - "The Hunger Games"
Is anyone more inspiring than the girl who will go fight in a death match for her little sister? I have a sister four years younger than me, the same age difference between Katniss and Prim, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do that for her, but I wish I would. Katniss is willing to put her life on the line for the people she loves, and eventually for a whole country. She puts herself last in the grand scheme of things and I wish I was that selfless.
9. Ginny Weasley - "Harry Potter"
No one expected the little girl the dark lord controlled for almost a year when she was only 11 to grow into such a badass, but we probably should have. Ginny's hexes are feared throughout Hogwarts because she's that powerful. She's the kind of person who won't hex you for messing with her, she'll hex you for messing with her friends. Besides all that, she also was strong enough to let the love of her life walk away from her to search for Horcruxes for a year because she knows he has to do what he has to do to defeat Voldemort and she can't get in the way of that.
10. Diana - "Wonder Woman"
Diana doesn't save humanity because we deserve to be saved. She acknowledges that sometimes, we don't deserve saving. But Diana saves us anyway because she hopes that we can be better, she believes that we can be better. She doesn't save us because we are good, she saves us because she is good.

This girl will follow every rule in the book until the rules get in the way of what she thinks is right. She starts an underground fight club because she thought her classmates weren't getting a proper education. She also straight up calls the magical president useless to his face, your fave would never.
12. Allison Argent - "Teen Wolf"
Allison finds out that werewolves are real and decides that she wants to be able to protect herself and makes her dad train her to fight. When she realizes the error of her families past of hunting supernatural creatures, she forces her dad to change the family code from we hunt those who hunt us to we protect those who cannot protect themselves. She changes from hunting down people because it scares her to protecting people who aren't in a position to save themselves.
13. Malia Tate - "Teen Wolf"
Malia doesn't beat around the bush, she says what she means even it isn't nice. She grew up as a coyote (it's complicated) and was thrown back into human life at 16 so she's not the best at social codes, but she won't lie to you just to make you feel better. Malia doesn't like a lot of people, but once you're her friend she's ride or die for life.
14. Leslie Knope - "Parks and Recreation"
Don't we all wish we could have the confidence of Leslie? Not only is she amazingly confident in herself, she also believes that everyone around her can do great things. 15. Cersei Lannister - "Game of Thrones"
Cersei might be a little crazy, but no one can say she isn't badass. She knows what she wants and she is going to get it. Cersei is willing to do anything in pursuit of power or the protection of her children. Her children are the most important things in her life and god forbid you hurt one of them because she will come up with a twisted way to get revenge on you that will have you wishing you never touched someone she loves.
16. Sansa Stark - "Game of Thrones"
Sansa is 11 when she goes to Kings Landing and no older than 12 when her father is killed and she has to live surrounded by people who hate her. Sansa adapts to this environment, hides her intelligence and her allegiances, pretends she fully supports the Lannisters, survives marriage to a member of the family that murdered the people she thought were her last living family members, was kidnapped by a man who only wants her because she looks like her mother who he loved, was forced to marry a member of the other family that played a part in the murder of her family, was raped by this man, and yet she still is alive and able to be genuinely happy. If anyone of these things happened to me, I'd be on the floor crying for the rest of my life, but Sansa endures because she has hope.
17. Cristina Yang - "Grey's Anatomy"
Cristina knows her worth and won't let anyone else forget it. She's a cardio god who won't let anyone forget that she is one of the best surgeons to walk in this hospital. She's good at what she does, and aspires to be even better every day and doesn't care who she has to step on to be the best. Everyone could use a little Cristina ambition in their life.
18. Luna Lovegood - "Harry Potter"
Luna has never let a thing anyone said about her bother her. This girl got called Loony for years and didn't let it change how she acted. Her things got hidden by her classmates and she wasn't fazed.
