Living in D.C, there are countless activities to engage in if you want to get out. But other than the tourist attractions, what else does D.C. have to offer for you next date night? You'd be surprised on the multitude of ideas and adventures you can get into right here in D.C., and some of these ideas even apply to other areas, so that's definitely a plus.

Here are 20 ideas to make your next date night a fun night to remember:

1. Cafe/study date

This area is crawling with great bookstores meshed together with a cafe to give you the perfect atmosphere to absorb knowledge and talk. “Prose and Politics” and “Illy” are both relaxing and have great atmospheres.

2. Game night with your friends

Spade tournaments are incredibly fun, and you can literally play all night and never get bored. Between the competition and strategy and snacks, you’ll be in for a treat.

3. Go see the monuments and landmarks

The museums are free! Be a tourist for a day. I recommend going to see the monuments late in the evening, as well.

4. Thrift Shopping

This is always fun especially when you’re with your partner. You can also go with a group of friends to find some great things!

5. Our typical dinner date

The Harbor is extremely beautiful and one metro ride away.

6. Bowling at Lucky Stripes

7. Salsa Dancing

Trust me, this is hot and extremely fun! They have quite a few free classes around this area, and if you want to go even further, there are several clubs that play music catered to this type of dancing.

8. Go to the opera

This is way more fun than it sounds, and it depends on the show you attend. “The Flying Dutchman” is breathtaking, and its topic is provoking.

9. Go to a basketball game

If you’re into basketball, this will be a very entertaining night for the two of you.

10. Music

A small concert, live music cafe or even a music festival. There’s always an event going on in D.C.

11. Movie screening

There are many that happen in different areas, and more often than not, they are free.

12. Theme nights at different restaurants

Whether it’s the Cuba Libre restaurant in Gallery Place or an open mic at Busboys and Poets, there's a variety of cultures you can immerse yourself.

13. Explore different college campuses

Georgetown has a beautiful park near the campus!

14. Camping

The outdoors is relaxing and gives you time to really connect without your phone being present. And it’s fun!

15. Bike riding

Find good locations that host bike lanes and ride over the city. It’s a great workout and a cheap way to make your way around D.C.

16. Clubbing/Partying

If there’s a party you want to go to, there’s no reason you two can’t turn up together.

17. Late night food runs

IHOP and Krispy Kreme are my go-tos or even a slushy from 7-Eleven.

18. Rent

A car, a boat or even a room. We’re adults, have adventure!

19. Be spontaneous

Do something you’ve never done but have always wanted to do.

20. Stay in

Some of the best nights I’ve had have been inside, talking about life and ambitions, writing, watching movies, eating great food and listening to profound tracks by Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone. Don’t underestimate the power of a night in with your partner.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
