To be honest, a majority of these suggestions involve food. So the moral of the story, food is happiness and finals are unhappy times. By this flawed flow of logic, in order to combat the stress of finals, food is the solution and a friend.

1. Ball at Van Cleave

Softball? Basketball? Tennis (ball)? Whatever you choose, it will be a ‘ball’ of a time better than studying.

2. Get ice cream from Purple Onion

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Which is better than screaming into your pillow because you (yet again!) got that math problem wrong.

3. Take a nap in Coffman

Because there is nothing better than having hundreds of people stare at you as you sprawl across the chair and form a little pile of drool.

4. FREE Yoga

Breathe. Just breathe. Okay, so cry and breathe, that’s okay too.

5. Rent one of those green bicycles

And ride, just ride away from your problems. That is, after all, the best way to deal with stress, right?

6. Buy five overpriced pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream from the mini Target

One pint of ice cream is obviously insufficient; therefore five pints seems like the reasonable solution.

7. Pet some dogs

PAWS aka “Pet Away Worry and Stress,” because fluffy and happy animals make everything better.

8. Metro to the downtown

Because as the buildings get taller, your pain will appear smaller. At least that is my excuse for wondering downtown instead of wondering to the library.

9. Hammock in the Knoll

Just ‘hanging’ out and ‘hanging’ onto that last hope of passing your chem final…!

10. Get lost in the tunnels

But can your responsibilities find you when you are underground…? Worth a try.

11. Cry by the river

Or cry yourself a river, that works too.

12. Buy ice cream from the UMN Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition

If it is made by students who study nutrition, then it must be healthy. (AND they sell cheese!!)

13. Finals week group fitness

Okay, this one is actually a great way to deal with stress, so 10/10 would recommend.

14. Spend an excessive amount of time finding the best studying spot.

Technically you are not procrastinating because you are legitimately trying to find the perfectstudy spot to help you learn better. #Science

15. Visit Weisman Art Museum

Go see neat things to remind you that there are pretty things in the world that are not just your aesthetic study guide.

16. Thrift with Gina + Will

Thrifting is good for the soul, especially when one is in the heart of Dinkytown.

17. Hide out in Walter’s basement

There are comfy chairs, bowling and FOOD! What more could you want?

18. Get a muffin from the Essential Market in Blegen.

The lemon poppy seed muffins at Blegen is the most important hidden treasure at the U. You’re welcome.

19. Nonchalantly take pictures on Stone Arch Bridge

*Looks stoically off into the distance with a soft smile pretending that you didn't ask your friend to take your picture*

20. Try to get on the UMN snap story.

And maybe you just film all these activities on Snapchat in an attempt to share your pain with the world on the UMN snap story.

Or I suppose you could study too... I guess school is slightly important. But on the bright side, only a few more days! You got this!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
