1. For creating you.
As weird as it is to think about, without them you wouldn't even be here.
2. For loving you, even when you think they shouldn't.
We've all made mistakes, and done things that seem unforgivable. Your parents, no matter how mad they could have been, still found it in their heart to keep you around.
3. Driving you around for 16+ years.
Your mom probably didn't want to come pick you up from your bff's house at 1 am, and your dad probably didn't enjoy driving you and your new boyfriend around just for you to break up a week later. It's the little things.
4. Teaching you how to drive.
It's just as stressful for them.
5. Letting you be yourself.
Not everyone has this opportunity to be accepted for who they are. If your parents are like this, you should probably thank them right now.
6. Listening to you whine about going grocery shopping.
I still do this (sorry mom) and I probably will until I die. It's just annoying.
7. Still offering to do your laundry when you move out.
Laundry sucks, man.
8. Watching dumb cartoons instead of anything interesting or worthwhile.
To be honest, they probably didn't want to watch Mickey Mouse or Little Bear all day (maybe they did, but probably not).
9. Buying you toys or candy every time you went out.
Or for not killing you when you sat in the shopping cart screaming for a bouncey ball.
10. Making you dinner.
And watching you waste a plate of food.
11. Sending you to school.
No high school student wants to thank his/her parents for sending them to school, but without an education you have nothing.
12. Pushing you to do your best.
Your parent's support is more important than you realize.
13. Liking your posts/tagging you on social media.
It's not lame, and who else is going to give you all that attention?? NO ONE.
14. Calling you 5 times a day.
Knowing that you're missed when you're away from home just makes you feel good.
15. Not sending you away to boarding school every time you yelled at them and slammed your door.
Like I said, we all have our bad days.
16. Letting you know how they feel about your friends.
If they don't like your friend, there's probably a good reason.
17. Listening to all your drama.
High school can be tough, and they were always your shoulder to cry on.
18. Paying for almost everything the first 16+ years of your life.
And buying groceries for your college years.
19. Loving you unconditionally.
As sappy as it sounds, no one will love you like your parents do.
