1. Writers are similar to magicians. They will perform for you but never reveal their secrets. For example, their inspiration.
2. We are shameless creatures that expose our vulnerabilities; not because we are brave, but to encourage others to do the same.
3. We often take risks because, even if it doesn't work out, at least we will have something to write about.
4. Our language consists of similes and metaphors.
5. Poets are not always abusers or alcoholics, but they sure do write about them.
6. They either have daddy or mommy issues. And if they are a really talented writer, they probably have both.
7. When it comes to dating, please notice the caution sign illuminated above me. Writing is my lethal weapon, so if you shatter my heart, my poetry will slam you so hard that it will break yours literally.
8. If you ever have the courage to date me, know that I am the epitome of a haunting. My heart is filled with ghost stories of the relationships I use to be in, so don't take offense when they escape through my pen. I am a poet, and writing is how I mourn the dead.
9. I turn the blood I have shed into ink and my tears into watercolor paint.

11. With poetry, the applause is classified by snapping, not clapping. I do not know how to snap. I love the irony in that.
