Don't just wait until it happens.

Nineteen; One of the most boring ages in the history of aging. You're an adult, but you're not exactly an ADULT. You're starting your freshman or sophomore year of college, working, or just trying to figure out what to do with your life. It's the age to start figuring out who you are, and who you want to be; a personal reflection.

Here are a few things that I have learned or am trying to tell myself in the 19 years I've been here.

1. Not everyone is going to be there for you, and don't force them to. But, try to fix the relationship because you will regret it forever.

2. But, stop regretting things and thinking about what you did years ago.

3. See who is right in front of you, and don't long for the person in the back.

4. Be independent. Don't let others sway your opinion. You won't always agree.

5. Stop saving junk and use what you have. Minimalistic approach.

6. Changing your major is okay, but do it now and not a semester before graduation.

7. You don't have to hang out with friends 24/7. Take time for yourself.

8. You can never be overdressed or undereducated. Literally. Wear that dress to class.

9. Be more outgoing. Don't just hide in the corner on your phone. Talk to someone you normally wouldn't talk to.

10. Travel. And travel a lot.

11. Take the camera out more, and ask friends to be models. Don't just wait until it happens.

12. Study first. Nap later. Or nap, study, then nap again. Sleep is important.

13. Read more books, and books that you are actually interested in.

14. Take time for yourself, but don't sit in your room all evening.

15. Do things out of the blue. You won't regret it.

16. Try to wear more than the same 5 t-shirts and 1 pair of jeans.

17. Get up a little earlier than 30 minutes before class. Make that cup of coffee and browse twitter.

18. Do what you want, not what others say. Be a leader

19. Make a change in the world. Volunteer more and share your talents with others.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
