As we close the book on 2017, we all have had varying opinions on what it brought to us. To me, it was a fairly decent year. Like any other person, I had my peaks and my valleys. To say there existed some times where I would doubt whether or not to keep going on is a complete understatement at best. On the opposite end of that spectrum, there existed times where good fortune would never end. The luck I had in 2017 would be described as very Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There’d be stretches where I would be protected by a halo; nothing horrible would happen. Like the roller coaster ride I experienced, there’d be moments where Murphy’s Law came into effect: anything bad that could have happened did happen to me. But, through it all, I persevered well in the first year of Trump. Here exist's 18 ways I plan on improving myself in 2018:
1. Communicate my needs and concerns more clearly.
2. Be smarter financially.
3. Say “no” and mean it.
4. Make sure things get done on time.
5. Ask more for help than I have.
6. Eat at home more.
7. Get more restful sleep.
8. Focus more on myself and my needs*.
9. Have a sharper, more upbeat attitude about activities.
10. Try new things.
11. Get a new job.
12. Help out more than I would in years’ past.
13. Practice patience with situations.
14. Increase my activity level.
15. Manage my time more efficiently.
16. Do hard things first.
17. Evaluate all possible outcomes of choices I make.
18. Be a better son, brother, and uncle.
* - This doesn’t mean I won’t become a complete selfish person who’ll focus on himself and himself only. You gotta take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
