The Big Apple. The city that never sleeps. I may be biased but New York City is the best city on the planet. We have the best people, pizza, & the loudest conversations. Here's how to tell if you're a true New Yorker:
1. You jaywalk.
The walk and wait signs are basically invisible to us. We know if you don't walk while the first cars are turning you will be stuck in the middle intersection. And no one wants to be stuck there. Especially on a rainy day. Haven't you seen any movie like ever?
2. You have stood on a long line for bagels and or Shake Shack at least once.
Us New Yorkers love our bagels. There was even a dancing bagel on the NYC snapstory. If your relatives live out of state they always make you bring fresh ones to them. Even though you know that Shake Shack is mostly for tourists you will still stand on the long line for the chance to have their burgers and amazing fries.
3. You know where the best pizza is made in every borough.
Hint: New Park Pizza in Queens.
4. You can hail a cab properly.
No, you can't just stand in the middle of the street and wave your arm. It's an art.
5. You've seen a film crew on the street.
6. You can correctly pronounce "Houston St" & "Greenwich".
7. You have a bodega that you stop in almost every day.
8. You get angry when New Jersey-ans call themselves New Yorkers.
Preach it Ted.
9. You have never gotten an umbrella off the street.
That sucker will break in less than 10 minutes. Poor gullible tourists.
