Either you are dying to be in sorority life or you're dead set on staying away from it. That's how many people feel about Greek life when they enter college. Me, any many others on the other hand, weren't sure. I went through two full years of school before running home to my sorority and my sisters. Although I wish I had met them earlier, I am thankful for the experiences I had before joining my chapter. There's so many reasons to be in love with your chapter, here are 18 reasons I love mine.

1. Girl Gang

Good girl friends are hard to find. The ones that are supportive without being judgmental are true gems. As a young adult, it's important to have supporters and cheerleaders, as well as be that person for someone else. Being in a sorority gives you a chance to meet a ton of awesome girls that could potentially be your bridesmaids someday.

2. Who are you?

There's approximately 200 or more girls in each chapter -- at least that's the case at my school. There's no way you are going to be best friends with every girl, yet alone know everyone's first and last name (right away). One thing I love about Greek life is getting to meet a wide variety of people and getting to know them on a deeper level.

3. PHILANTHROPY

Did someone say philanthropy? Every organization has their philanthropic mission and partner. Each organization hosts some sort of event to raise money for that purpose. Whether it be a kickball tournament, bull riding contest or Cajun cook-off... every chapter loves to give back!

4. Themes? Please!

It's like Halloween... but on a regular basis. What girl doesn't love dressing up and having a good time with her friends? Mathletes vs. Athletes, Space Jam, and Decades top the list of themed parties in college.

5. Sisterhood Retreats

Sisterhood retreats are a blast. Theme parks are a common choice here in the sunshine state, but camping and roller skating also top the list of things to do with your sisters. The matching shirts and cute pictures, plus a whole day with your besties, is something you'll never forget.

6. Tailgate SZN

A little party never killed nobody, according to the Great Gatsby. In the south, we loved our football team almost as we love our sisters. Spending all day together, cheering on our team is the best possible way to spend each Saturday. (Not to mention the super cute game day outfits and pins!)

7. Need a volunteer?

As much as we love to socialize in Greek life, we all love helping out around town. You can often find Greek life members volunteering at local animal shelters, elementary schools and hospitals. If you have a heart for helping others, a sorority will give you a chance to meet others with that same passion.

8. Vacation time

Imagine being on a cruise ship with 30 of your sisters for spring break? Could you think of anything more fun? Vacations ideas are endless when you have sisters all over the US! Whether you enjoy the beach or the snow, there's a sister who wants to go!

9. Clothing galore

A well-known perk of joining a sorority is the many, many closets you gain access to. In this picture, only the shoes actually belong to me. Whether you're going out, having a sleepover, or just wanting to change out of clothes, sisters are always open to borrowing clothes (as long as they get returned eventually.)

10. Never eating alone again

Hate eating alone? Feel like everyone is staring at you? Well, you don't have to worry about that anymore. Between sorority meal plans, living with your sisters and late night food runs, you'll never have to eat alone again. Yes, 1 AM IHOP trips are actually a thing.

11. Study Buddies

Having a lot of sorority sisters, means having a lot of people who are taking or have taken the same classes as you. This makes studying for that final exam a lot easier when your sister aced it last semester. Study breaks are also much more fun when you have someone to take silly selfies with.

12. So. Many. Pictures.

As you can tell from this article alone, pictures are a must. Since joining a sorority, I have added over 4,000 pictures and videos to my phone. Every and any occasion is a good time for a picture. There's so many things you want to remember forever that can be saved through pictures.

13. Prom (round 2)

You thought your dances were fun in high school? They're 100x better in college. Taking charter buses full of friends to a fancy location to dance the night away is way better than any high school prom. Especially when there's usually an open bar to enjoy.

14. Homecoming

Homecoming in college is very different than it is in high school. It's no longer just a football game and a dance. Homecoming is a full-filled week of activities to recognize alumnae coming back home. In Greek life, we take the week to enjoy each others company and have a grand ole time.

15. Family weekend

Having moms and dads come to visit the college scene is always a sight to see. Sharing your sorority with them is something you'll never forget. The events the organization puts on are always a fun time to show your family around your college town.

16. Birthdays get a whole lot bigger

Between sign nights and surprise parties, birthday parties are bigger and better when you join a sorority. Everyone wants to celebrate your big day and give you what you deserve. Your birthday is supposed to make you feel special and loved, and your sisters will work hard to make sure you feel that way.

17. Big/Little SZN

It's like getting a whole new family. Big/little season is full of gifts, surprises and love... all leading up to the main event where you find out the identity of your big sister and your family. Enjoy your new support system!

18. LOVE

The love you get from a sorority is different than any love you'll experience in your lifetime. These girls are going through similar life experiences as you are, and they can share ups and downs with you along the way. They will support you in all your endeavors and push you to be the best version of yourself that you could possibly be.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
