When people first get into relationships, everything is new and exciting. You always want to be around each other, talking to each other, holding one another, kissing them, or having some form of physical contact 24/7. But inevitably, that stage fades and you'd much rather just take a nap while they do chores or do ANYTHING else than watch them play Madden '19. Relationships are about give and take. Not every activity will be as equally exciting to both of you, but it's about finding something that is mutually interesting and making the best of it. Again, it shouldn't be about where you're going or what you're doing, it should be about who you're with. However, that doesn't mean you can't have fun and be creative either.
1. Go on a Poke-Walk
GiphyAlright, here me out. I know Pokemon Go is a thing of the past and yada, yada, yada, but if he's really into it, and it gets you both out of the house, DO IT. Download the app, put on your running shoes and explore the world around you!
2. Make dinner together
GiphyGo to your local grocery store, grab some ingredients and see what you can whip up together! It may not be edible in the end, but that's why practice makes perfect.
3. Make dessert together
GiphyStressed spelled backwards is desserts, so that means if you're stressing each other out, you gotta make them a mean chocolate chip cookie to make up for it. While you're at the store, grab a tube of pre-made cookie dough! Or, if you're really ambitious, make it from scratch.
4. Hold a get-together with all your friends
And I don't just mean your best friend and her boyfriend. Invite his friends to the mix, too. Let your two worlds collide and see how much fun you can have!
5. Plan a night in
GiphyPick a movie on Netflix and pop some corn, grab some goodies and cuddle up! Nothing's better than relaxing and cozying up for the night.
6. Go to the gym together
GiphyFeeling a little tense? Take your aggressions out at the gym! Go together and encourage and push each other to your limits. You'll feel SO much better after.
7. Go for a drive with no destination
GiphyGet in the car and whenever you come up to a left or a right turn, flip a coin and let fate decide where you end up!
8. Go line dancing
GiphyThis may not be for everybody, but it can be seriously fun and romantic to learn a partner line dance with your S.O.!
9. Take a day trip somewhere scenic
This gives you ample opportunities to find new things to do that you never knew existed, have a mini road trip AND do some outdoor fun as well! It's something for everyone.
10. Go to a concert
GiphyThere's nothing better than being with someone you love while listening to live music. I promise you.
11. Go out for ice cream
Especially in the summer, there's no better way to end a long stressful day at work than going out for an old fashioned vanilla and chocolate twist in a cone with your love.
12. Go fishing
GiphyAgain, this may not be for everyone and may not apply to everyone, but if one of you is into it, then make a deal and go fishing! Like, if I don't like fish, I'll agree to catch the fish but my boyfriend has to do all the dirty work. In the end, we both have a great day and we got to spend time together. Perfect.
13. Have a study date
Instead of putting off all your homework, plan a study date! Help each other make flash cards, come up with ways to remember tricky terms, and at the end, a nice brownie for all.
14. Let bae plan a surprise day
You both can take turns with this, but let them come up with something all on their own and go through with it, no questions asked.
15. Go to a sporting event
GiphyYou may not be into football, but his favorite team is playing a SUPER important game against a team he absolutely hates. You won't understand anything, but has anyone ever said no to free beer and nachos? Not this girl.
16. Go to a fair/carnival
GiphyDo the whole cliche fair/carnival thing and get on the ferris wheel and kiss at the top. Maybe even selfie while you're up there. Either way, enjoy the moment and all it has to offer!
17. Take a nap together
A lot of people forget that intimacy doesn't always mean sex. It can be cuddling and napping together, too. Napping with someone you love can do wonders for both of you. There are plenty of studies that show sleeping next to your S.O. improves quality of sleep AND can strengthen the relationship. So, get your nap on.
