It’s that time of year again – the National Broadcasting Society convention, a magical week for communication students where they gather in a major U.S. city to network with industry professionals. This year’s convention brings us to sunny Hollywood, CA, and while we may be enjoying the bright lights and other city sights, here are 16 thoughts that everyone has while attending the NBS national convention.

During the Opening Session:

1. Just when you thought it was over, nearly half the people in the room line up for the Q&A portion.

You sit back down, we want to get food now.

2. When someone asks a stupid question.

When you try to sound smart and then... don't.

3. Really?! You just asked a second question?!

We're hungry here. Just for that, to the back of the food line with you.

During the Business Meetings:

4. Because you have to be there at 8 a.m.

During Panels:

5. When you're the only one from your school attending a certain panel and you're sitting by yourself.

Um...hi...?

6. When you realize the panel you're in isn't what you were expecting and you're really not that interested.

Should I stay or should I go?

During the Career Focus Event:

7. You reach the one person you're excited to meet with, only to find that their table is full.

8. When you find a typo on your resume.

During Down Time:

9. Trying to decide between doing homework in the hotel room and sightseeing.

10. Sightseeing, of course!

11. Deciding on plans with your group.

Because you know the Uber to get there is going to drain your wallet.

During the Awards Show:

12. When the opening speeches start to drag on for too long.

We want results!

13. When someone from an overly-large school wins.

14. When someone from your school wins.

15. When the convention ends and you realize you're heading home the next day.

Even if you are ready to reunite with your bed, you're still going to miss the awesome city you fell in love with over the past week.

16. When you find out where the convention is being held next year.

Just as the convention was wrapping up, now you're excited for it again.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
