I think that it’s safe to say that everyone loves Netflix. Whether you use your friend’s account, your parent’s, or your own, Netflix is a fan favorite. I mean, what’s not to love? There’s an endless stream of TV shows and movies made for everyone. But then there are a select few that go to infinity and beyond with their Netflix addiction, you know who you are. However, even if you’re not “addicted,” and do a few of the following, we’ll just sweep that under the rug.
1. You feel personally attacked when you see the "Continue Watching?" screen.
You’ve been watching a show for six straight episodes, where does Netflix think you went? But it might be a good wakeup call to actually do something productive instead of watching Netflix all day, unless it’s Saturday, then go for it.
2. You know every episode of "Friends" and "The Office."
Anyone that’s ever had Netflix has definitely watched these two shows, no matter their opinion on either. They’re two very classic shows that are super relatable and enjoyable to watch. And if you haven’t seen them, you better get on it.
3. Your list is filled with shows and movies.
Even if you spend all day on Netflix, there will always be something in your list. I have been watching Netflix for years, and my list is filled with countless things to watch. Sometimes when I want to watch something different, I’ll scroll through and see what’s all on Netflix. In the process, I find four new things to add to my list. I don’t think I’ll ever finish everything that’s on my list.
4. You always click "Next Episode" if there's a cliffhanger in the previous episode.
You can’t just go to sleep when you have a million questions. You need to know what happens right now. None of this waiting until tomorrow to get answers.
5. You just always click "Next Episode," no matter the circumstances.
Who are we kidding? You're gonna click "Next Episode" regardless. Sleep can wait, homework can wait, treat yo' self with some Netflix. You deserve it.6. You love eating breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks while watching an episode.
Who doesn’t like eating your food while watching something? It doesn’t have to be Netflix, but it’s a great time to get into a new show. Or finish a movie or show. It’s hard to do work when you’re eating, so you mine as well watch some good Netflix.
7. You always have recommendations for friends and family, hand-picked for their taste.
Your friends and family have run out of things to watch, so they, of course, come to you. You bond over your love of this show and that movie, and you always have the best recommendations. And they always come back to you for more recommendations.
8. You humbly accept the challenge to finish TV shows before they're taking off the site.
Last November, "How I Met Your Mother" was taken off Netflix. I was watching that show at the time, and I took that as a challenge to finish the show. I did it and with weeks to spare. I have not been as lucky with other shows, however, looking at you Burn Notice.
9. You binge-watch like a legit pro.
Some people can handle two or three episodes in one sitting, buy you’re over here with seven or eight under your belt. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, it’s quite impressive. No need to beat yourself up over something like that. Keep your eyes open for a Netflix binge-watching event in the Olympics.
10. To the point where you wish it was a career option.
I think it would be awesome if there was a career where watching Netflix was all you did. You would literally get paid to watch TV all day. Do you know how much you could watch per week? Just the thought of it makes me wish it were true.
11. You've seen all the Netflix originals at least three times.
Let’s be real, Netflix has released some amazing shows and movies — "The Christmas Prince" and "Orange is the New Black," for example. And because they’re so wonderful, you need to watch it immediately after you finish it. That’s just protocol.
12. You know all about the short-cut codes.
There are these number codes you can input in the web address bar to access a crap-ton of additional material on Netflix. And each genre has its own code. And these genres are very specific and tailored to your exact want. It’s actually pretty cool.
13. You have ways to find out when new shows and movies will be added.
You must have some insider information or something because you always know when new content is being added. You also know what shows and movies are being removed. It’s always nice to have someone as knowledgeable as you for that purpose.
14. When asked what your favorite show is, you give five.
This is the hardest question. How can you just pick one? I mean, everyone has that one show that never gets old and you can watch it a million times, but you definitely have more than one favorite. It’s not fair to only pick one when you have so many favorites.
15. Your motto is, "Grades are temporary, but Netflix is forever."
Netflix will always be there for you. Grades don’t matter once you get your career. No one’s gonna care you failed your women’s studies course or that you aced microeconomics. That’s great. But have you seen "New Girl" or "Parks and Recreation"?
16. Netflix will never break your heart... unless it lags or takes your fave show off.
A Netflix watcher’s worst nightmare: Netflix lagging. It also sucks when your fave show is taken off. Now, what are you going to watch for the umpteenth time? But I think we can agree that lags are the worst and they need to be fixed.
