16 Quotes To Mark Your New Year's Blank Page

The book is called "Opportunity" and its first chapter begins with, yes, that time of year yet again, New Year's Eve, that is. Here is to reflecting on the last 12 months of 2015 (thank goodness for cameras and handwritten notebooks) and looking forward to the changing and the new. What better time than now to take some inspiration and use it to motivate yourself in accomplishing goals and resolutions that were perhaps broken in the previous years?

While most talk a good game, this year is about you and what you are going to make it. Maybe last year came with its highs and lows, you lost that bet in keeping up with a gym membership, or even worse you named your bathroom "Jim" to say you go every day. Not this year. Although it can make you feel uneasy at times, pressuring to keep up with ideas or contemplating a bigger transformation, others have done it, therefore, what is limiting your ability to? So take a look at some of these quotes, ones to ponder on and ones to move you or even others into the past as they will not be joining you on this page into 2016.

6. "The only thing I'm committed to right now is bettering myself." - Unknown

7. "Find someone who makes you realize three things: one, that home is not a place, but a feeling. Two, that time is not measured by a clock, but by moments. And three, that heartbeats are not heard, but felt and shared." - Unknown

8. "What if I told you 10 years from now your life would be exactly the same? Doubt you'd be happy. So, why are you afraid of change?" - Unknown

9. "Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” - Lao Tzu

10. "I promise you, these storms are only trying to wash you clean." - Jessica Katoff

11. "Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could." -Unknown

12. "Do your thing, and don't care if they like it." -Tina Fey

13. “When you're different, sometimes you don't see the millions of people who accept you for what you are. All you notice is the person who doesn't.” -Jodi Picoult

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.
