With Christmas coming up, college students all over are getting prepared for final exams, and most importantly, the highly anticipated winter break that gives us chance to relax and spend time with our family and friends for an extended amount of time between the fall and spring semesters. With that being said, if you've run out of ideas of what to get your college student this Christmas, here are a list of things that can hopefully give you some inspiration.

1. Wax Warmer/Diffuser

If your college student is living in a dorm room, chances are they aren't allowed to have candles or incense due to the potential fire hazard. A wax warmer comes in a small size that you can plug into a wall outlet or bigger size that you can put on your desk, and it emits the smell of your choice when you put the wax cubes in it and turn on the lightbulb. A diffuser on the other hand uses water and essential oils to mist out the scent of your choice into the air, and creates a calming, spa-like atmosphere in your room. An added bonus of a diffuser is that they're much like a humidifier and are good for clearing out your sinuses, during the cold winter months and flu season.

2. Fitbit

This is a perfect gift for the college student that likes to stay active and keep track of their steps throughout the day. There any many different types of fit bits to choose from and the prices range depending on the model. Having a fit bit is also a great way to get in the habit of wearing a watch and keeping track of the time.

3. Bluetooth Shower Speaker

One of the best inventions ever for the college student who wants to listen to music in the shower without damaging their phone. I recommend specifically the Polk Swimmer Duo because it is dirt, shock, and waterproof and comes with a bendable handle for hanging. Don't let its looks deceive you- it's overall sound quality is great whether it be in or out of the shower or even by the pool in the summertime.

4. Water filter

Even though some colleges do have water fountains with filters on them that are accessible to students in their dorm halls, the water tends to still taste pretty weird. If this is the case for your college student, give them the gift of good tasting water this Christmas with a refillable pitcher that filters water the right way.

6. Fuzzy Socks

Never underestimate the power of fuzzy socks. One of the best investments for your college student to stay warm and comfortable in the winter months. Any kind of fuzzy socks will work, but I recommend the cabin socks brand because they are infused with aloe, are made well, and are on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods BOGO free during the Christmas season.

7. Portable Ice Maker

Never having enough ice is one of the biggest struggles I've encountered while living in a traditional dorm with no accessible ice machines. This one is on the more expensive side but might be worth it if your college student's small ice tray isn't cutting it any more and if there's enough room for it in their dorm room.

8. Magic Bullet

A magic bullet is a versatile blending machine that is very portable and easy to store if there is limited space, like in a dorm room. With thousands of recipes out there, the magic bullet is a great way for your college student to make anything from smoothies to dips and other concoctions of their choice.

9. Bluetooth Winter Hat

Another perfect gift for your college student if they like to listen to music. Instead of having to wear both headphones and a hat in the cold winter months, this innovative hat acts as a 2 in 1 for just that purpose and can be conveniently connected through bluetooth.

10. Microwave Pasta Cooker

When it's too cold outside and moving out of your room to get to the dining hall isn't even an option, there's still a way for your college student to make their own meal right in the comfort of their dorm. This nifty pasta maker allow you to cook the perfect pasta right in your very own microwave without having to worry about it sticking together or the water boiling over.

12. Bed Trays

A reading pillow paired with a bed tray is the best way to make your college student's bed the most comfortable impromptu work space to get things done. Some bed trays are able to adjust on angles and to flat surfaces for reading books and working on your laptop, while others are the perfect table for eating food in your room (some even come with cupholders!)

13. Projector

If your college student loves to binge watch Tv shows or movies, a projector is the perfect way for them to transform their dorm room into a home theater.

14. Water Bottle

Once you get your college student the water filter they've been asking for, there are so many reusable water bottles on the market that they can take on the go throughout their day. Here's a list of inventive water bottles whose specialties range from keeping your water cold to even more effective filtration.

15. Travel Mug

By now your college student has probably realized the importance of different coffees and teas to help keep them energized throughout the day. Going to Starbucks everyday can get kind of expensive, so a quality travel mug to keep the beverages they make back in their dorm room at a reasonable temperature for an extended period of time will surely come in handy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
