Being a commuting student, I spend a lot of time in the car driving back and forth to class. These minutes spent in the car leave me to my thoughts, which isn't always a good thing. I present 15 thoughts I have while commuting.

1. I should have used the restroom before I left

It never fails, I usually make it about 5 minutes into my drive and then suddenly I realize I have to pee.

2. I'm hungry...

It's hard to drive past so many delicious eateries and not think about lunch!

3. Maybe I should stop by Target

Who doesn't love Target? Between the dollar deals, the cute clothes, and any thing you actually don't need but will buy anyway.

4. Why doesn't anyone know how to drive

No turn signals, tailgating, driving unreasonably slow/fast. Driving the highways feels like a real-life version of the Hunger Games.

5. If I quit school I wouldn't have to deal with all this traffic

Between the actual stress of class, the next leading reason of me considering dropping out is ALL THE DAMN TRAFFIC.

6. Was there homework assigned last night??

I either get super ahead on all my readings or assignments, or I am rushing to finish right before class starts.

7. I should have gotten up earlier

Sleeping in is probably one of the best things, until you think about all the things you could have been doing instead of sleeping in.

8. Man, I'm really late!!

Another consequence of sleeping in: BEING LATE FOR CLASS

9. I should really hit the gym on my way home

My heat says gym but my heart says pizza.

10. Maybe I should just turn around and go back to bed

It's hard to resist the call of a pillow top mattress over the call of a boring class

11. I could just skip class and go shopping

I mean, when you're already running late, you might as well run really late and do some shopping

12. I wonder what my dog thinks I'm doing

Every day when I leave for school I always tell my dog goodbye, but then I wonder what she's thinking and if she wonders where I'm at

13. Am I scheduled to work tonight??

There's nothing like just driving, minding your own business then suddenly panic and wonder if you're on the schedule tonight.

14. I think I should just adopt 100 dogs

The best question is why not adopt 100 dogs. How could you ever be sad with 100 dogs to shower you with love and affection.

15. *Remembers the thing I always forget to do until I'm in the middle of doing something else*

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
