This semester has come and gone, and finals season is already upon us. While it seems finals approach quicker each year, one thing is certain: each semester's finals week is like the Tower of Terror, a new experience every time. Although you try every year to make sure you're prepared for when they hit, you'll probably get distracted at some point. If you are, you're probably doing one of these things, and if not, feel free to take this as a list of suggestions for what you could be doing instead of studying.

1. Crying

Finals are stressful when they have a big effect on your GPA. If you're finding yourself completely overwhelmed or afraid of taking your finals, you may be crying.

2. Sleeping

Sleeping is such a useful and versatile activity. Feeling tired? Sleep! Did you have a long day and want to reward yourself? Sleep! Do you have responsibilities you want to avoid? Sleep!

3. Eating

Let's be real, food is just too important and too good to say no to.

4. Going out, even though you probably shouldn't be

Who cares if you have a research paper due Tuesday and five finals after that? It's party time!

5. Complaining about having to study

"I can't believe I have to study for four different tests! Ugh, I hate this!" *continues scrolling through Instagram*

6. Watching Netflix

Now that classes are over there's more time to catch up on all of the binge watching you've missed, right?

7. Hanging out with friends

While you're doing this you're also probably talking about how you should be studying instead.

8. Making plans for winter break

Why study for finals when you can plan on what you're doing once finals are over?

9. Listening to your friends complain about finals

This will also be happening while you're hanging out with said friends instead of studying in the first place.

10. Shopping online

I'm sorry, I can't help it that every single website has a holiday sale!

11. Panicking about finals

Maybe studying was a better idea than sleeping?

12. Having a jam session in your room

Nothing says 24 hour quite period like screaming the lyrics to The Weeknd's new album.

13. Looking at memes

*Insert hooded Kermit meme about not studying for finals here* "Come look at this! Isn't it so true?"

14. Coping with the fact that finals are here by pretending they don't exist

Finals? What are those? Oh, they're not stressful at all, I'll be fine!

15. Reading this

That's right, I see you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
